Rapper Cardi B seems to have responded to the online trolls she received for her 2025 Met Gala photos. According to AllHipHop, a social media user shared photos of the event, claiming they couldn’t be real.
The photos were reportedly taken from the image repository site Getty. Meanwhile, on May 9, 2025, the rapper shared a self-recorded video, which she claimed to be her “no filter, no makeup” look. She captioned the video:
“Am I really that bad of a b*tch that y’all always gotta edit my pictures to fake try to humble me wit insults on this app? Anyways no filter, no makeup, just me and this wig I had on for days. THANK YOU!!”

However, the recent video was not far from online criticisms. A social media user (@imcharm_) reshared Cardi B’s post on X, writing:
“My god she reeks of insecurity like it’s getting sad.”
The rapper, in turn, retweeted the X post, countering:
“I’m insecure or do I make yall insecure to the point that you gotta go pull up my pictures then open a app and edit them because yall can’t stand how hard I step???”
At the 2025 Met Gala, Cardi B showed up in Daniel Lee's specially made green suit by Burberry. The outfit took inspiration from stylish men’s clothing from the Victorian era.
For a later event, she switched to a fitted black dress and traded her dark hair for a long blonde wig.
Cardi B on the 2025 Met Gala dandyism
Speaking of her appearance at the 2025 Met Gala, Cardi B shared with Vogue that attending the event felt more intimidating each year because she was constantly trying to outdo her past looks. She explained that viewers had high expectations of her.
Despite feeling overwhelmed, she appreciated the pressure because it reminded her of her superstar status. Cardi also admitted that her team kept improving and rarely made mistakes. While getting ready, she mentioned feeling a lot of pressure, even though she knew she looked great.
Concerning this year’s theme, the Bodak Yellow rapper opined:
“When I first found out that the Met Gala was dandyism, all I could think about is Harlem. You know, when you walk the streets of Harlem, you always have custom, like, stores that actually make custom, like, fits like this.”
Cardi B said she hadn’t seen many people dress that way before, except maybe a pastor. She described the style as polished and unique, with bold or interesting touches.
She pointed out that it wasn’t just about wearing bright colors since even an all-black outfit could still have that standout flair. To her, the suits had extra personality, like they had their own flavor.
Daniel Lee told the magazine that Cardi B's outfit was designed to mix a sharp, tailored look with a feminine twist. He and his team took inspiration from Victorian fashion, especially corsets and dresses from that time.
One specific gown from the 1800s, in emerald green, caught their attention because it had a bold circular cutout on the back. They liked how that detail represented breaking the rules, which fit the theme they were going for.
