An Ohio realtor named Stephanie Lovins was fired after she left a xenophobic message on a receipt from a Mexican restaurant.

"I hope Trump deports you," she wrote at the bottom. A fellow waiter shared an image of the same on Facebook, triggering a wave of outrage. Upon learning of the incident, her company, Century 21, issued a notice revealing that she was terminated as an employee because they did not wish to associate themselves with such actions.

The news has been circulating on X as well, drawing the ire of nearly everyone. One user called it "The worst of America right here," prompting someone else to comment:

"Century 21 deported her."

The comments didn't end there, as scores online chimed in to express their outrage:

"She went to a Mexican restaurant and got mad that Mexicans worked there?" someone probed.
"She’s Lovins unemployment right now," another X user quipped.
"So she went to a Mexican restaurant.. just to be racist. Smh," one more disapproving user pointed out.
"Good. She deserved to be fired!" a fourth user echoed.

More people joined:

"Omg!!! How traumatizing for that server," one user sympathised.
"Even if you don’t want to tip, why write something like this?" someone else asked.
"Wow. Sad. Just some miserable people in this world," another penned.
"I’m ok with not tipping. Leaving nasty notes however is wrong. And the waiter seeking revenge is also wrong they deserve to be fired too," one more claimed.

The comments section was visibly riddled with mixed sentiments, though a large chunk condemned Stephanie Lovins.

The incident, which took place at Cazuelas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in Columbus, Ohio, prompted Century 21 to pen the following statement, asserting that Stephanie Lovins was no longer a part of her team:

"Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The CENTURY 21 brand does not condone acts of discrimination and is taking this situation seriously. We have looked into it and the agent in question is no longer affiliated with the brand."

Following the mounting backlash, Stephanie Lovins took to her Facebook to address the incident, claiming her "credit card was lost/stolen and someone attempted to use it." She claims she has been accosted with endless notifications about the incident, but all she was doing was reporting it to her bank.

She claims she was targeted by "scammers and profile hackers" and thanked her followers for their "patience" as she navigated the situation.

However, as reported by The Columbus Dispatch, the restaurant manager reviewed the CCTV footage and confirmed that Stephanie Lovins had indeed penned the message. The owner also took to social media to pen a statement, as reported by The New York Post:

“We believe in the power of respect, tolerance and acceptantance. Recently, one of our team members faced an unacceptable situation, and we stand firmly against any form of hate or discrimination. It was a normal Sunday; things got a little busy, so the wait could have been a little longer than usual, but we aren’t really sure what made her write that."

He also revealed that the waiter in question's name was Ricardo, and he is a U.S. citizen working two jobs.

In the wake of the incident, a GoFundMe has been launched to give Ricardo "the tip he deserves." At the time of writing, it has raised over $8,800.
