Chappell Roan parts with her MET Gala suit for a charitable cause.

Ever wanted to get a piece of Chappell Roan’s closet? Well, this might just be for you, as the “Good Luck, Babe” singer is auctioning off her Met Gala magenta pink sequinned suit.

The Grammy winner’s upcycled 2025 Met Gala look was designed by Wicked’s costume designer Paul Tazewell, who also won an Academy Award. Paul used vintage pieces sourced from eBay, while accessories were curated by her stylist, Genesis Webb.

Chappell Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, described the look:

“My incredible suit tonight was designed by the incomparable Paul Tazewell. My entire outfit is fully upcycled from individual eBay items. The entire team worked so hard and I am beyond grateful to wear a garment that has had so many lives before me.”

While Tazewell, talking about designing the look, expressed:

“As a designer, I’m drawn to pieces that already have a life. Working with vintage materials from eBay let me build something entirely new while honoring what came before. It’s not just fashion—it’s storytelling. Every detail in Chappell’s look carries history, intention, and a bit of magic.” And Chappell was “beyond grateful to wear a garment that has had so many lives before me.”

The singer has decided to part with the ensemble and will be auctioning it off on eBay as part of their From the Collection series. The proceeds from the piece, which will be auctioned off on Thursday, will benefit the Ali Forney Center, as chosen by Chappell Roan.

The Ali Forney Center, established in 2002, supports LGBTQIA+ and at-risk youth, offering 24-hour programs through transitional housing, job readiness training, and more.

As part of the ensemble, the auction will include the custom pants, blazer, and boots, along with a luxury watch and ring also worn by her.

Chappelle Roan's “Hot to Go” outfit sells for $88,900

However, this is not the first time the singer has used her wardrobe to support a cause. Earlier this year, Roan auctioned off her iconic music video looks, including the vintage sequinned marching band unitard and strappy, knee-high boots, in Julien’s Auctions’ Give a Frock Auction in support of L.A. Wildfire Relief. The look garnered $88,900. Another highlight was the purple two-piece ensemble she wore at Sacramento venue Goldfield Trading Post, which sold for $22,225. The green Marc Jacobs platform boots from her Rolling Stone cover photo shoot, fetched $6,350.

Chappell Roan wasn’t the only one to participate in the auction for the L.A. fires, as items worn by Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Charli XCX also raked in thousands.
