Trump ally and political influencer Charlie Kirk was shot during a live event at Utah Valley University. The incident took place just around noon, about 20 minutes into a presentation Kirk was giving to a huge crowd of students.

Charlie was making his first stop on Turning Point’s “American Comeback Tour" at the university, seated at his “prove me wrong table,” where he likes to debate people and educate them. According to campus police, a single gunshot rang out around 12:10 pm. Immediately after the students started running and the crowd was scattered.

The university shared in a statement, “He was hit and taken from the location by his security,” adding, “a suspect is in custody.”

Donald Trump and others send him wishes

President Donald Trump confirmed the shooting on Truth Social, saying,

"We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM! "

The moment he made his confirmation, political leaders started sending their well-wishes to the activist.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth expressed, "Prayers for Charlie Kirk. An incredible Christian, American, and human being. May the healing hand of Jesus Christ be upon him."
While Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated, "FBI and ATF agents are on the way. PRAY FOR CHARLIE."
California Governor Gavin Newsom said, "The attack on Charlie Kirk is disgusting, vile, and reprehensible. In the United States of America, we must reject political violence in EVERY form."
And Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F Kennedy Jr wrote, "We love you Charlie. Praying for you."

Charlie is considered the future of conservative activism, and he has spoken at Republican conventions over the years. As a result, last year, Trump repaid the favor by giving a big speech at a Turning Point conference in Arizona. One of the conventions that he spoke at was the 2024 presidential convention, just days after an assassination attempt on Trump.

Kirk has been hospitalised, but there is no update on his condition.
