Christian rockstar Michael Tait has reportedly been accused of s*xually assaulting two other men amid ongoing controversy. In an interview with The Guardian, Jason Jones, the founding manager of the rock band Evanescence, claimed that he was one of the victims. Jones reportedly shed light on the assault that allegedly happened in 1998.

Jones told The Guardian that he looked up to Tait and hoped that a connection with the latter would take his band places. He continued:

"[Tait] had the power to open doors for us in the industry. So I went along with whatever, but didn’t know what it would cost me."

According to the news outlet, “eight people” have reportedly come forward to speak about their assaults by Tait. Last month, Tait released a public statement on his Instagram (@michaeltait), acknowledging that the reports against him were “largely true.”

He told the news outlet that he was fired in 1999 from Evanescence after he spoke out against the singer. He revealed he was “heartbroken” and how Tait “changed” all his young “dreams.”

Jones reported that he had dreams for his band and thought Tait could increase its visibility. He described the details of the assault, which reportedly happened in Tait’s bedroom. While details of the night remain hazy for Jones, he claimed that Tait may have “drugged” him. He alleged that he woke up thrice, only to witness Tait “giving him oral s*x.” Jones revealed his mental health took a significant turn after the incident. This was confirmed in an interview obtained by The Guardian with Evanescence’s co-founder, Ben Moody.
