"Been working behind the scenes": Megyn Kelly explains her involvement in Erika Kirk and Candace Owens' situation, says she was to moderate meeting

Ahead of Candace Owens breaking down her private meeting with Erika Kirk, Megyn Kelly has spoken on their situation. In the Tuesday episode of her show, Kelly spoke on why she hadn't remarked on the public spat between Owens and TPUSA's CEO. Megyn Kelly said that she had been working behind the scenes to mend the relationship between the two.

"I just wanted to note because many of my viewers have been wondering why I haven't said anything given my previous statements about Erika. And the reason is that I have been working behind the scenes to try to foster a day between them," Kelly stated.

For the unversed, Erika Kirk recently sat for an interview with Bari Weiss, wherein she asked Candace Owens to "stop" with her allegations against TPUSA. The podcaster also hit back at Charlie Kirk's widow and commented that she was suffering from "Meghan Markle Syndrome." Days after exchanging sharp comments, Erika Kirk invited Candace Owens for a personal meeting to address her accusations.

Following the four-and-a-half-hour meeting, both of them shared posts on X and announced that their conversation was productive. Owens noted that she would delve into the details of this meeting on the Tuesday episode of her podcast.

Megyn Kelly says Erika Kirk approached her to moderate the meeting with Candace Owens

Meanwhile, without revealing many details, Megyn Kelly said that Erika Kirk and Candace Owens met in the presence of two other people. She also noted that before the two hit roadblocks, this meeting was supposed to take place publicly. Kelly claimed that Erika Kirk called her weeks ago to moderate the conversation.

"Erika called me weeks ago and asked me if I would be part of this sit-down with them, which originally they had contemplated might be for consumption by the public or might air in some way, shape or form. and asked if I would facilitate that meeting between the two of them. And I said, 'Yes, immediately, of course, I would.' I reached out to Candace. She said, 'Absolutely. I'm thrilled it's you. I'm in,'" she claimed.

Megyn Kelly said that she was not going to choose either side. She affirmed her support for Erika Kirk while maintaining that she also did not want to pounce on Candace Owens without investigating where she was coming from.

"Sitting here in my studio in Connecticut just slinging mud at one side or the other or tearing people down or, you know, expressing my disgust, my outrage. That is pointless here."

However, Kelly mentioned that she wished that Candace Owens would never pursue the TPUSA narrative. Contrary to Owens therory, Megyn Kelly also believed that Tyler Robinson was the one responsible for Charlie Kirk's assassination.
