The ongoing investigation into the homicide of Celeste Rivas Hernandez continues to intensify after her body was found in singer D4vd's car.
The teenager, 15, was found dead in his trunk in Los Angeles earlier this month. The vehicle, a Tesla, had been abandoned at an impound lot. Rivas' body was found in the front trunk, dismembered.
As of this writing, her cause and manner of death have yet to be confirmed. However, per People Magazine, Rivas had been missing since 2024 out of Lake Elsinore, California. In the same year, she went missing at least three times. Per the Los Angeles Times, she had run away from home, though it is unclear where she was last seen.
The latest developments in Celeste Rivas' homicide explored as rumors surrounding singer D4vd continue to intensify:
As of this writing, D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, 20, has yet to issue an official statement. Authorities have not identified him as an official suspect, though he reportedly axed his ongoing tour to help out with investigations.
In a GoFundMe launched by her loved ones, Celeste Rivas was remembered as a "beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend."
Complex has reported that, as speculations about the investigation continue to swirl, a new video shows the singer at a performance in Maryland. Allegedly taken in August, the video seemingly shows a girl, who some claim is Celeste, in the Silver Spring area.
The singer was in Silver Spring as part of his Withered-promoting world tour. TMZ pointed out that the girl in the video was wearing a tube top, which is what previous reports suggested the victim was wearing. As of this writing, however, these claims have yet to be confirmed.
In a recent statement to Complex, however, a representative for the LAPD revealed that the Robbery-Homicide Division detectives acted on a search warrant, after which “several items of evidence” from the scene as part of the investigation.
A man who reportedly lives near D4vd's Hollywood Hills home spoke to The Sun recently, alleging that he saw the singer with the deceased several times.
“They were with each other all the time. I thought they were just kids, like 18 or 19 years old. I had no idea anything was wrong.” The neighbour claimed that they were largely private, did not party, and were polite. “Any time I tried to talk to them, they weren’t very engaging,” he added.
He also recalled asking D4vd why he never fixed the Tesla when it was damaged:
“He didn’t really say what happened,” he added.
