DDG is backing his fellow streamer Kai Cenat up when it comes to The Shade Room's latest antics.
In his latest stream, the rapper can be seen reacting to a clip of Cenat speaking with a reporter from the news outlet, as he shouts DDG's name on the red carpet at the BET Awards, held on Monday, June 9. "That was in the court of law," the reporter shot back in her defense, referring to the latest news they have been posting about him.
"They say 'court of law' but y'all spread a whole fake statement for a whole day straight," he said of The Shade Room. "Y'all are messy." Y'all couldn't pay me to support y'all. Y'all couldn't pay me a million dollars to support y'all. I hate when y'all post me," he said.
Adding that he once liked what the outlet did, he went on:
"But now, it's like, y'all tear black men down. That's like the main f*ckin core content that y'all have, like 'how can we tear a Black man down further and further?' he said. "That s*it is weird, but you supposed to be like uplifting Black people. I don't see you posting no other race in a negative light. Only Black men."
For the unversed, amid DDG's ongoing custody and restraining order battles with the mother of his child, Halle Bailey, The Shade Room has been posting regular updates. The Twitch streamer, whose real name is Darryl Granberry Jr., is visibly unhappy over what the outlet has been issuing.
Notably, this week alone, in another live stream, he called the outlet out once again for repeatedly posting about his and India Love's raunchy dancing at one of Kai Cenat's pool parties on June 10.
DDG compares himself to Michael Jackson as he laments the judge's decision to grant Halle Bailey custody over their son
Estranged partners DDG and Halle Bailey, who share an 18-month-old son named Halo, have accused each other of being abusive and have each filed for TROs against the other. They are currently embroiled in a custody battle, and just last week, the streamer took to X to vent as he likened himself to the King of Pop:
“Now I know how Michael Jackson felt being famous.. sh– crazy," he wrote.
The 27-year-old recently petitioned the court to prohibit the Little Mermaid actress, 25, from taking their son to Italy with her for two months, where she is expected to shoot for a film. However, as reported by USA Today, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Latrice A. G. Byrdsong dismissed the request.
DDG's "request for an order prohibiting (Bailey) from traveling outside the United States with the parties' minor child (Halo) is denied," the order reads, citing the "insufficient evidence of imminent emotional and psychological risk to the minor child during (Bailey's) business trip to Italy."
Byrdsong has scheduled another hearing for June 24, where either party is required to present "further evidence" "for the Court to issue more restrictive orders as the Court has granted sole legal and physical custody to (Bailey) temporarily until the next court hearing."
For his part, Darryl is accusing his former beau of threatening suicide several times, prompting the songstress to shoot back in a declaration to the court:
“I have been very vocal about my anxiety, depression and previous thoughts of suicide,” she wrote, according to Billboard. “Without waiving the psychotherapist-patient privilege and physician-patient privilege, I have reached out to my doctor and received treatment to address these issues. I have been and remain 100% available and capable as a parent to our son, Halo.”
She also alleged that DDG “has exaggerated, lied and misconstrued for the court, not only the history of our relationship, but our parenting and my mental health.”
