Candace Owens is rubbishing the text messages released by prosecutors in the ongoing case of Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk.

The right-wing activist was gunned down on September 10, and the Utah native, 22, was arrested two days later on suspicion of the murder. Prosecutors, who are pushing for the death penalty for him, have since presented messages between Robinson and his alleged partner, Lance Twiggs, in the indictment filed on Tuesday.

Less than three hours after the slaying, Robinson allegedly told Twiggs he'd been planning it for a week. He also instructed Twiggs to “look under my keyboard." When the latter, who is allegedly in the process of transitioning from a man to a woman, did so, they found a note that read:

“I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.” Twiggs asked if he was joking, to which he allegedly said: “I am still ok my love, but am stuck in Orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you."

When Twiggs asked if he was the one who killed Kirk, Tyler Robinson replied:

“I am. I’m sorry.” He went on, “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence. Going to attempt to retrieve it again, hopefully they have moved on. I haven’t seen anything about them finding it.”

The latest developments in the case against Tyler Robinson explored:

Candace Owens, the infamous conspiracy theorist and right-wing political commentator, has since ridiculed the text messages in the indictment. According to her, the documents were doctored and/or fabricated, and they were cherry-picked and presented to push a certain narrative.

She is also calling for the messages to be presented with the time stamps and for every single one of them to be made public. Furthermore, she retweeted the initial video of the suspect from the FBI, which was issued to the public as part of the manhunt.

The 43-second clip, which was seemingly taken from a roof, shows a man in a brown t-shirt holding a small black object, which Owens claims was a gun. Her tweet read:

“Has this person been identified yet?”

In the messages, Tyler Robinson also allegedly told Twiggs that he used his grandfather’s scoped .30-06 hunting rifle as the weapon and stashed it in some nearby bushes after the shooting before he went into hiding. He purportedly wanted to return for the weapon later, but cops had locked down the area by then.

“I’m worried what my old man would do if I didn’t bring back grandpas rifle … how the f— will I explain losing it to my old man,” he allegedly wrote. “[Y]ou are all I worry about love,” he added, reportedly before he turned himself over to the cops.

County attorney Jeff Gray said, per Sky News, that "aggravating factors" in the killing included that the

"defendant is believed to have targeted Charlie Kirk based on his political expression and did so knowing children were present and would witness the homicide."

Tyler Robinson has been detained without bail since he was arrested. He attended his hearing from his jail cell via video link. Sky News has further reported that Gray said Robinson had slammed Kirk for "spreading hate" during a conversation with his father. He also claimed the university grounds were a "stupid venue" for the podcaster to host his event.

Following the slaying, the county attorney further alleged that Tyler Robinson came clean to his parents when they confronted him, as he purportedly told them he committed the murder because "there is too much evil in the guy." Gray also alleged that Robinson's mother claimed her son had "started to lean more to the left" in the last year.

Per Gray, Tyler Robinson had become more "pro-gay and trans-rights oriented" in his parents' eyes. His mother added that he began dating Twiggs, who was "transitioning genders", prompting "discussions" with his dad, who had opposing views.
