DJ Akademiks recently commented on the ongoing controversy about whether Kendrick Lamar or The Game is the better rapper. According to TMZ, this comes after The Game appeared on the Club Shay Shay podcast earlier this week on Wednesday December 10, hosted by Shannon Sharpe, where he claimed to be the best rapper out of Compton, a place where Kendrick Lamar grew up.

Following this, DJ Akademiks expressed his view on who he thinks is the better rapper between Kendrick Lamar and the "Hate It Or Love It" rapper. On his livestream, DJ Akademiks said:

"For me I look at it like Kobe and LeBron. If you are a Kendrick guy, you probably are gonna be like 'You are good, but you are not in this guys league.' And if you are a Game guy 'oh I guess excusing a favor for Kendrick.' I think if you are a Game guy, you'll appreciate Kendrick a little bit."

These comments by The Game comes just a week after he released his most recent collaboration with DJ Drama. The album titled Every Movie Needs a Trailer was released on December 5 and contains eighteen tracks. According to Hot New Hip Hop, The Game also announced that his upcoming album The Documentary 3 is set to release some time in January, although the exact details of it have not been released.

More from The Game's recent interview where he claims to be the best rapper from Compton

In his appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast, The Game was asked as to who he considered to be the best rapper from Compton, to which he promptly replied that he considered himself to be the one to hold the title. According to Hot 97 News, The Game in his conversation with Shannon Sharpe also claimed to be the best rapper from the entire West Coast, and said:

"I’m definitely the best rapper from Compton. Can’t nobody out rap me man. Anyone who knows will know. I’m the best rapper in this town. Nobody can out rhyme me.. anybody that knows will know..Even if you are..like no one can do what I do ..no one has my skill set."

He further added:

"Not only do I have the ability to wrap circles around people I am also with all the bullsh*t too, if it came to that.”

These comments by the two-time Grammy-nominated rapper come despite other renowned rappers like Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Tyga, Ice Cube and many others who are known to come from Compton. According to Hot New Hip Hop, The Game reportedly, in his new album, allegedly referenced Kendrick Lamar in one of his songs. This comes after he spoke up last year about his friendship with Drake amidst the reignited Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, while also praising Kendrick Lamar, and said, "I think what [Kendrick] doing is amazing."

Last month, The Game, during his appearance on Big Boy's Neighborhood, claimed to have attempted to sign Kendrick Lamar back in the day. In his conversation, he added that he had realized Kendrick Lamar's true potential even before he rose to fame, and said, "I knew what he was gon' be."
