The "Save Me" singer had a bad experience while out shopping during his visit to the continent. While walking, he filmed himself and said,

"Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place."

He then tried to make light of the situation by further joking,

"I have never been looked at more like a crim— Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad, I was an actual criminal this bad."

Referring to his past altercations with the law.

Jelly Roll's criminal history

Jelly Roll has quite a colorful past in terms of his run-ins with the law. He has always been honest about his past, and over the years, ever since he was a teenager, he has been to jail around 40 times for various drug charges. In fact, last year he wasn't allowed to leave the country.

Last Year, during an Interview magazine sit-down with Jon Bon Jovi, he revealed said,

"I’m so excited [to perform outside the United States]. We’re figuring out the final pieces of some legal puzzles for me to get overseas." He further added, "It’s funny, America has finally agreed to let me leave and give me a passport, but some countries won’t let me come because of my felonies. We’re working on that. I think it’s going to work in my favor."

He had also told Billboard in 2023,

“The trick is when America finally says, ‘We’ll let you leave,’ the amount of countries that won’t let you come in … We had to cancel my London debut show."

He was first arrested at the age of 14, and two years later, he was arrested for a robbery charge, where he was tried as an adult. He served over a year in prison and received seven years' probation.

In the same Billboard interview, Jelly Roll also shared,

"I never want to overlook the fact that it was a heinous crime. This is a grown man looking back at a 16-year-old kid that made the worst decision that he could have made in life and people could have got hurt and, by the grace of God, thankfully, nobody did."

Expressing how he is regretful of his past actions and wishes to improve himself. Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has two more shows left, including a Thursday, November 6 gig in Townsville at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium and a show on Saturday, November 8, which will take place at the Outer Fields at Western Springs in Auckland, New Zealand.
