Vice President JD Vance has announced that he will host the next episode of The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday, September 15, 2025. The episode will be released at 12 p.m. ET on X (formerly Twitter) and Rumble. It will be the first time the podcast returns since the assassination of its host, Charlie Kirk. He was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025.

JD Vance shared the news in a post on X on Sunday, alongside a photo of a desk microphone. His post read:

"Tomorrow, I will have the honor of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show. Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend. 12:00PM ET http://Rumble.com/CharlieKirk"

To this, one netizen reacted by asking:

"don't you have a job?"

Internet reacts as JD Vance set to host The Charlie Kirk Show

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share that,

"JD Vance announces he will host The Charlie Kirk Show on Monday."

X users were notably quick to weigh in on the comment section of the X post as they reacted to the news. Below are some of their remarks:

"People are asking "doesn't he have anything better to do". The answer is no. The VP has one job under the Constitution which is to cast the tiebreaking vote when the Senate is 50/50. Unless there is a tie vote in the Senate on Monday this is an appropriate use of his time", penned a netizen.
"They picked the blandest person. Can we do celebrity hosts like one week, we have the 2 remaining impractical jokers host it this week, and like Shakira next?",, asked another.
"It's never too late to quit a career you hate and chase your dreams.", noted a third.

Others also chimed in:

"That is an interesting move. It makes me wonder how guest hosts can change the tone or audience of a show. Do you think JD Vance will bring a new perspective, or will it feel just like a continuation of the usual format?", commented an X user.
"J.D., here is a photo I took of Charlie as he watched you giving your acceptance speech at the RNC. I was speaking to him just before you came on, and he was so excited for you and our country. I will never forget him.", shared another.
"I am so sorry for your loss, America's loss. I know how much you loved him. Thank you for being there for Erika and her children. Charlie loved you and would want them with your family.🙏♥️♥️🦋", penned a third.

The Charlie Kirk Show has been one of the most viewed conservative podcasts in the U.S. It reportedly attracted over half a million monthly listeners and more than 120 million downloads in 2024. Kirk used the platform to discuss politics, religion, and more.

A funeral for Kirk is scheduled for next week. Donald Trump, JD Vance, and more are expected to attend.
