In a surprising turn of events, Elon Musk has reacted to Trump's decision to release the Epstein transcripts, albeit in his own way. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Musk reacted to the news, showing his support for the president's decision.

Interestingly, Musk and Trump famously went head-to-head early this year, with the serial entrepreneur even insinuating that reveal his secrets. Additionally, his tweets attacking the president have caused quite a conversation on the interwebs.

Last week, Attorney General Pam Bondi filed a motion seeking the release of the grand jury transcripts in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Besides AG Bondi's expedited motion, there has been a strong push from all quarters of the Senate to release the files. The Attorney General's motion filed last week read,

“In the light of the Act’s clear mandate, the Court should authorize the Department of Justice to release the grand jury transcripts and lift any preexisting protective orders that would otherwise prevent public disclosure.”

The Act in question is the Epstein Files Transparency Act, passed earlier this week. Bondi has also called for redacting any sensitive information that might aid in identifying the victims.

Interestingly, President Trump had earlier ordered AG Bondi to release the files amid public furor over his inaction on his poll promises. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump announced in July,

“Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to Court approval.”

Bondi announced that the DOJ had obtained “new information” that provides more leeway and less obstruction to the release of new files. Moreover, Elon Musk, after his very public disagreement with President Trump, was seen at the White House dinner organised for the Saudi crown prince last week.

In an interaction with the reporters in October, Trump had implied him mending his relationship with Musk. He said,

“He had a bad spell. He had a bad period. He had a bad moment. It was a stupid moment in his life. Very stupid. I'm sure he'd tell you that. But I like Elon, and I suspect I'll always like him.”

Musk, who has earlier donated massively to the Trump campaign, endorsed Republican representative Byron Donalds in his race for governor of Florida. However, his plans for creating a third political party have seen no active development.
