A verdict has been delivered in the high-profile trial of rapper P Diddy. After seven weeks in court, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. However, the jury cleared him of the more serious allegations, including racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking. While the conviction remains significant, the outcome is being seen by many as a partial victory for Diddy.
Following the verdict, P Diddy broke his silence with a heartfelt message to his mother. According to CNN, he was seen kneeling in front of his seat in what appeared to be a moment of prayer. He then stood, turned to the gallery, and began clapping. Smiling as he faced his family, he said warmly,
“Thank you. Love you, Mom. I love you. I love you. I love you."

Diddy’s verdict met with the family’s celebrations
As the rapper escapes a life sentence due to a split verdict, Sean “Diddy” Combs’s family is celebrating. His children and mother, Janice Combs, were all smiles after leaving the courthouse. Janice greeted the media outside the court and was seen waving and showing a thumbs up, while his children were smiling ear to ear.
Combs's family members have supported him throughout the trial as they showed up to court, not missing a day of the trial, and are now overjoyed after the verdict. His sons, Justin and Christian, said they wished he would beat the more serious charges against him.
Justin later stated,
"I am so happy," while Christian expressed, "First thing I'm gonna do is hug my Pops! We were hopeful but you never know."
Christian also told Daily Mail,
"I just didn't know which way it was gonna go. I haven't even processed this yet. Man it's incredible he's gonna be coming home."
The transportation to engage in prostitution conviction carries a maximum sentence of 10 years per count. With Diddy found guilty on two counts, he faces up to 20 years in prison, though the final sentence is still left to be determined by the court.
Commenting on the outcome, Elie Honig, senior CNN legal analyst and former assistant U.S. attorney for the SDNY, stated,
"He has defeated the Southern District of New York, which, I worked there, they don’t like losing in court. They don’t lose in court a lot. And there’s no way to spin this. This is a devastating setback for the SDNY.”
