Former NCT member Taeil, whose full name is Moon Tae-il, has admitted to all the charges of special quasi-rape during his court appearance. The South Korean singer was accused of r*ping a woman, who is a tourist from China, while she was intoxicated. The incident was reported on June 13, 2025, which was a year ago. Initially, Taeil's hearing was supposed to happen on May 12, 2025, but was postponed to June 18, 2025.

On the set date, Moon Tae-il made his appearance at the Seoul Central District Court’s 26th Criminal Division and admitted to his crime. Although the singer himself confessed, his legal team is trying to get him a more lenient sentence. According to reports from K-media, this is what his lawyers had to say:

"We submitted a letter of surrender to the police, and after much difficulty, we reached a settlement with the victim, who is Chinese, and received a statement that they do not wish for punishment."

Details about the allegations against ex-NCT’s Taeil

As mentioned, the incident happened on June 13, 2025, but Taeil was not the only one involved. Along with him, two unknown friends (surnamed Lee and Hong) took the woman from a bar in Itaewon to a cab, and proceeded to take her to one of the defendant's houses in Bangbae-dong, South Korea, where they r*ped her. They met at the bar at around 2:33 a.m.

According to the prosecution, they stated:

"Then, from around 4:00 AM to 4:30 AM on the same day, they jointly raped the victim who was lying unconscious from being heavily intoxicated."

The prosecution is also demanding a seven-year prison sentence for Taeil.

After news of the allegations broke out, Taeli's agency, SM Entertainment, decided to remove him from NCT on August 28, 2023. The singer is waiting for his sentence by the Seoul Central District Court, which is scheduled for July 10, 2025.
