Sheila E., whose full name is Sheila Escovedo, is a singer, songwriter, and percussionist. There was a recent online rumor that she testified in Sean "Diddy" Combs' ongoing federal trial. The claim was first made public by the YouTube channel WhatsMyStarWorth in a video post on May 19, 2025.

1 MINUTE AGO: Sheila E. Reveals What Prince Told Her About Diddy Before His Death...” it was headlined.

The video description further read:

“In a shocking revelation that’s lighting up headlines, legendary musician Sheila E. has come forward with what Prince allegedly confided in her before his death—and it involves none other than Sean “Diddy” Combs.”

At the time of writing, the YouTube video has received over 697,285 views, demonstrating its widespread popularity on the internet.

But the now-famous claim is fake. Diddy's sex trafficking trial has received a lot of media attention, but Sheila E. did not testify.

Sheila E. did not testify as a witness in the federal courtroom in Manhattan, New York City, where the trial has been ongoing and no significant news organization has covered the event.

The content of the video was "altered or synthetic," according to the WhatIsMyStarWorth description, which also adds, "Sound or visuals were significantly edited or digitally generated."

Additionally, it included a disclaimer that said:

"This content is fictional and for entertainment purposes only. No official sources confirm the existence of such a recording.”

This made the now-viral video claim untrue.

Sheila E. did not appear in court during Diddy's trial

WhatIsMyStarWorth's 20-minute YouTube video presents a false narrative about Sheila E., a musician, allegedly testifying at the Sean Combs' trial about her ex-partner and music legend Prince.

"According to Sheila E., Prince shared a chilling warning about Diddy that is now resurfacing amidst the explosive trial and growing controversy surrounding the hip-hop mogul,” the video description reads.

It continues:

“In this video, we break down Sheila E.’s emotional statement, what Prince allegedly saw happening in the industry, and why his words are now being seen in a very different light. As past secrets begin to surface, the connection between music’s biggest names is taking on a darker, more disturbing meaning.”

The video, however, offers no reliable source or proof to back up its assertion that the singer of Glamorous Life testified on "day 7" of Combs' well-publicized criminal trial in a "shocking twist."

Furthermore, it makes the untrue allegation that Prince, who died on April 21, 2016, was killed by Diddy.

No foul play has been reported, and the artist's death has been ruled out as an accidental fentanyl overdose.

The video also begins with a disclaimer that states,"viewer discretion is strongly advised" and "the following is for educational and entertainment purposes only."

The United Nations-backed investigative journalism organization Inner City Press, which has been extensively covering the trial, has reported on the alleged testimony of Sheila E, who was "Prince's legendary percussionist and close confidant." This is just another false claim in the WhatIsMyStarWorth video.

The claim is further refuted by a disclaimer included in the bio of the WhatIsMyStarWorth channel.

“The content on this channel may contain gossip-based information, rumors, or exaggerated portrayals of reality. Please exercise your own discretion while watching, and remember that not all information presented may be factual or verified,” it reads.

As a result, the video can be considered fraudulent, created with the intention of going viral, and lacking a reliable source for its information. Furthermore, the narrator in the video narrated a made-up script that had obvious AI elements.

Notably, the WhatIsMyStarWorth channel has been spreading similar false claims about the Diddy trial on a number of occasions, including the May 18 video titled,"1 MINUTE AGO: Prince's SECRET Recording Just Shattered Diddy's Trial..." which is claimed to be false as well.

Testimonies from Sean Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, her former best friend Kerry Morgan, and former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard have been presented thus far in the trial, which started on May 5, 2025.

During the first week of the trial, Daniel Phillip, a male escort, and Israel Florez, a former hotel security detail who is currently an LAPD officer, also testified.
