Logan Paul, known to many as "The Maverick," has once again made the headlines, but this time for refusing to fight with Messi’s bodyguard, stating,
“I’ve committed my life to WWE.”
Over the last few years, YouTuber Logan Paul has shifted his focus from content creation to combat sports. He currently boasts having 23.6 million subscribers on YouTube, where he made his start.
According to his recent podcast episode, the WWE fighter was offered $15 million to fight sports legend Lionel Messi's bodyguard Yassine Cheuko. In this episode of ImPaulsive, he stated,
“I am available, I have time. I have commited my life to becoming a WWE superstar. I am not doing other opportunities, I have been offered $15 million to fight Messi’s bodyguard. Super appetizing, super cool. But I’m a WWE superstar. I’m on a mission right now. While the other ancillary stuff works for other people, I’m devoting my life to this. So, like, I turned that down and I’m going to be the best that I can. And, I’m available. So Tripe H, Nick Khan, book me.”
He further explained,
“People still call me a YouTuber, but I’ve been wrestling my whole life. I’ve done more in a short time than some wrestlers have done in years.”
“That’s, by the way, one of the many titles I think I should be holding. If it were upto me, I’d be holding all of them. I think when it comes to box office, views, capability, everything I am the full package. Anyone how denies that is just oblivious.”
This all started with the legal battle between the two. Messi's hydration brand Mas+ had sued Prime Hydration by Logan and KSI, and the legal fight that followed has had plenty of twists and has been going on since October 2024. The brand has also been accused of ‘harassing’ the football star, including Logan Paul even challenging Messi to a boxing match. However, Yassine stepped up and offered to fight the older Paul brother instead.
The bodyguard has experience and training in intense martial arts, which could have spooked Logan as he declined the offer, stating he’s serious about WWE.
Fans react to Logan Paul declining the fight

Who's actually buying tickets to see Logan Paul fight Messi's bodyguard? 😂"

I hate to say this, but he's a good wrestler. Calling his finishing move the "the suicide forester" needs some work though."

"Messi's bodyguard would WASTE HIM."
Another came to Paul's defense:
"Logan's focus on WWE shows strong commitment."
Logan had previously entered the boxing ring a few times to fight Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and Dillon Danis, and has teased a future appearance in the UFC’s Octagon.
