Conservative media personality Matt Walsh has reacted to Erika Kirk forgiving Charlie Kirk's assassin. Following his murder, the memorial service for Charlie Kirk was held at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on Sunday, September 21. A number of White House officials, including President Donald Trump, delivered a speech in honor of the late activist.

However, the most talked about speech remained that of Erika Kirk. The wife of the late founder of TPUSA said that she had forgiven her husband's killer.

"Our Savior said, 'Father, forgive them, for they not know what they do.' That man. That young man. I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did in his. What Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate," Erika Kirk said.

Matt Walsh has responded to it. In his September 22 X post, the Daily Wire host suggested that Kirk's wife's forgiveness didn't mean that Charlie Kirk's killer shouldn't be punished.

"Forgiveness and justice are not at odds. Erika courageously forgave her husband’s killer. She never said he shouldn’t be punished severely for his crime. Yes we should forgive those who commit the most heinous acts. We should also arrest, convict, and execute them. Again, these are not at odds," he posted.

After sharing this tweet, the right-wing host reiterated this thought in another post and added that "to be forgiven does not mean that you escape the just consequences of your actions."

Matt Walsh was among the prominent conservative media personalities who were present at the ceremony. In one of his Sunday posts, Walsh shared his experience from the event and called the event an "American revival."

"Incredible atmosphere at the Charlie Kirk memorial today. There is no doubt that an American revival is underway. I’ve never seen conservatives this energized and determined to take back the culture," he tweeted.

In another tweet, Matt Walsh lauded the speech of Erika Kirk and described it as the most "powerful" public address he had ever heard.

"Erika’s speech was the most poignant and powerful public address I’ve heard in my lifetime. I’m not sure that there’s even a close second place," Walsh wrote.

Matt Walsh recently appeared on The Charlie Kirk Show along with Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles following the death of TPUSA's founder.

While forgiving her husband's murderer, Erika Kirk, who was recently chosen as the CEO and Chairperson of Turning Point USA, pledged to carry forward the legacy of the late activist. President Donald Trump concluded the memorial with his eulogy, in which he called Kirk a "great American hero."
