Gavin Adcock has been cleared of the major charges of reckless driving and violating the open container law.

The country singer, known for his controversial opinions, was arrested in May. However, People Magazine has reported that his charges have since been tossed and/or dismissed by prosecutors during a hearing that took place in Tennessee on Monday, August 18.

Adcock, who did plead guilty to speeding, took to Instagram to allude to the fiasco:

“All I know is it always works out,” he captioned a photo of himself striking a pose outside the Wilson County Criminal Justice Center.

Everything we know about the charges against Gavin Adcock:

Back in May, according to Country Now, the singer was arrested just outside of Nashville. At the time, he was taken into custody shortly before midnight and was let go on a $1,000 bond in the early hours of the following day. Shortly after he was let go, he took to his socials to explain what had happened.

“I bought my dream car.. a 1973 Dodge Challenger,” he wrote. “Over the past few months I’ve been putting money into it, getting it running as good as new, and decided I wanted to take it for a joy ride. The car ran great. I got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving going 103 in Wilson County, TN.”

Per People Magazine, he also had an open container of alcohol in his car at the time.

The Watkinsville, Georgia native then spun his debacle into an opportunity when he wrote a song about it, titled “Morning Bail,” on May 30. He did clarify that the song was penned months ago, but it felt fitting to him to release it after being let go from jail.

“I wrote this song a few months back and planned to put it out on the album, but I figured there’s no better time than now,” he added. "If I woulda known it was gonna end up like this I woulda went faster."

Notably, this isn't Gavin Adcock's first brush with the law. The singer took to X in June 2023 to open up about an instance where he was detained:

"Went to jail one time because of a suspended license, sat in there for 10 hours and made friends with my cell mates," he wrote at the time.

Gavin Adcock is now set to kick off his latest tour on Thursday, Aug. 21.
