Giannis states he wants to be a streamer and asks popular streamers for help.
NBA player Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is also known as "Greek Freak" due to his size, speed, and strength, is facing “the greatest offseason of all time,” and this has led him to seek out other things to do in his leisure time, including streaming.
According to a viral social media clip taken from his TikTok account, Giannis seems to be interested in stepping into live streaming, since almost every other social media star and celebrity is seen to be doing so these days. Giannis has shown his interest and respect for the field; hence, he has expressed his wishes to grow in the field.
Giannis, along with his wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger, said.
“I’m having so much fun this summer.”
He added:
“It’s gon’ be the greatest offseason of all time, yeah. Basically, I’m having my own podcast without doing nothing. People are out here asking me questions."
At this, his wife retorted:
"Which is what streamers do, right?"
Giannis then supposedly asked his fans, as he was facing the camera,
"Should I start streaming?"
He was then seen asking for advice from streaming giants Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed:
"IShowSpeed, Kai Cenat, may help your brother out, man."
Mariah, however, did not seem on board with this idea. When he asked why he couldn't do it, she simply stated:
"Because we have four kids and a lot of other responsibilities."
The Milwaukee Bucks' player answered:
"I’ve seen them how they’re doing it, they’re actually good at it. Engaging, they’re very good!"
The couple kept on going back and forth on the topic as Giannis explained to her the perks and benefits of this booming industry, including saying the amount of money streamers make is insane.
"Why is that not right for me? Do you know how much money they make? They make a lot of money, baby.”
Fans react to Giannis' idea
Even fans could understand where he was coming from with this idea, as it is said that in some spaces, streamers are getting more fame and attention than even athletes. Many took to social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) to comment on the same.
One user commented.
"Bro everyone want to be streamers now wtf"
Another said,
"Streamers being more respected than NBA players wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card"
One user complained:
"I see too many people doing this for the money man….Bring back genuine creators plz"
While another expressed:
"Being an established celebrity and starting to stream is the easiest money glitch"
Giannis is not the first celebrity to consider this pathway, whether as an actual career option or just for promotions, since quite a few rappers and actors, including DDG, Kevin Hart, and more, have become involved in streaming today.
