TikTok personality and influencer, Brittany Miller, appears to be taking accountability for her past transgressions. The UK-based personality took to social media and posted a video apologizing to fans for using an ill-advised tactic to gain sympathy and followers in her younger years as an online presence.

According to her claims, Brittany Miller states that a myriad of mental health issues paired with a lack of stability in her personal life prompted her to fake a cancer diagnosis. The influencer stated she had suicidal thoughts and was battling severe depression at the time, and her claim quickly snowballed into something far greater.

After sharing the false narrative with a friend, a fundraiser aimed at helping Miller was established to help in her plight shortly thereafter; this is when Brittany apparently came clean. She is adamant that none of the proceeds were ever spent, and that she deeply regrets her choices.

Given the extremely polarizing nature of the issue, users flooded social media with their take on Brittany Miller’s apology. One user was mystified by her actions, but also complimentary in her effort to take ownership of her mistakes,

“That's really sad but glad she's taking accountability!”

The majority of the other responses seemed to be a direct attack on Miller’s character. One user wrote,

“Anyone faking cancer should be locked up in a mental institution.”

Another added,

“What a vile person.”

One user then questioned if anything is truly off limits for influencers in today’s online community,

“They literally want everything, nothing is enough fir them they want cancer too - degenerates”

Brittany Miller lies about cancer diagnosis, more

The troubling part of Brittany Miller’s ‘honest’ moment was that it was preceded by an incendiary article exposing her in The Sun UK. Titled, “How online scammer Brittany Miller faked cancer to become top influencer as we reveal dark truth behind career”, the scathing article went into detail about her fabrication of a stage 3 stomach cancer diagnosis at the age of 21.

An inside source recently even shared the following disclaimer with The Sun regarding Miller,

“Lots of her followers will have family members living with cancer but little do they know that every time they watch one of her videos, they are giving money to a fraud.”

While Miller's feigning of a serious illness already puts her character into question, only choosing to come clean now due to a news article revealing the truth casts further doubt on her as a human being.
