World of Warcraft legend SwiftyiRL enlisted the help of the internet in fundraising after he revealed he was permanently banned on Twitch. The streamer shared a new video of himself asking his fans and followers to donate to his GoFundMe page. He explained that streaming was his main source of income, his "life," and his "passion." "Recently, I was banned from the platform, and I am currently going through the appeals process to try and restore my channel. This unexpected situation has been incredibly difficult, especially as my wife is home caring for our 2-week-old baby and is not able to work right now," he wrote on X. As of this writing, the page $9k out of the $14k asking. In a new update, however, SwiftyiRL confirmed that he has been unbanned on Twitch, "thanks to you all," he wrote to his followers on X."I can't believe I got unbanned so fast, and I have to give a big shout out to the community. You guys got me unbanned. I'm so grateful," he said, adding that he had been heavily stressed, but the views and support he got on his X post made him feel better. "Thank you guys for getting me unbanned," he said. SwiftyiRL's troubles with Twitch explored: In his GoFundMe page, which features a photo of his newborn, SwiftyiRL, a.k.a. John, wrote: "With streaming being our only income, this ban has left us in a very tough spot. The funds raised here will go directly toward our living expenses and baby supplies while I work through the appeals process and search for another way to support my family. Every bit of help will make a real difference in keeping us afloat during this uncertain time." The streamer, who has been livestreaming on Twitch for over 14 years, had reportedly not been notified of the reason behind his ban. He promptly lodged an appeal with the platform to overturn this decision. "Livestreaming is more than just a job to me. It's a community and a way to inspire others. I have always tried to set a good example, avoiding profanity and striving to be a positive role model. Thank you so much for any support you can offer as we navigate this challenge and as I work to transition to a new platform. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to us," he wrote on his GoFundMe. SwiftyiRL has yet to issue an update about the funds raised via his GoFundMe page.
