Elon Musk took to X this week to react to Jeff Bezos' expanding list of titles.

The Amazon CEO has reportedly launched a new AI startup where he will be Co-CEO. Dubbed Project Prometheus, the project has amassed over $6.2B in funding, some of it from the Blue Origin founder himself. It will focus on developing AI-related technology in the engineering and manufacturing industries across fields like computers, aerospace and automobiles.

Musk re-posted a tweet on X about the same, with a witty caption referring to Jeff Bezos as a "copy cat."

"Haha no way. Copy [cat emoji]."

As of this writing, Jeff Bezos has yet to respond to his comments.

Everything we know about Jeff Bezos' latest business venture:

Elon Musk's comments come days after he mocked Jeff Bezos. During a conversation with Joe Rogan, the Tesla CEO poked fun at the owner of Amazon's drastic change in appearance over the years:

"He went from being a skinny nerd to looking like The Rock," he said. "He got ripped at 59. He used to have a neck like a noodle, now he looks like a bodybuilder. His neck is bigger than his head." The business tycoon continued, "I'd rather keep lifting rockets and not weights".

As for one of the world's wealthiest individuals, the New York Times has confirmed that his Project Prometheus is now one of the most financially well-backed start-ups in the world. On its LinkedIn page, it is mentioned that it will focus on developing "AI for the physical economy."

The project marks the first time Bezos will be engaging in an operational role in a company since he stepped down as CEO of Amazon in July 2021. His official title at Blue Origin, which is direct competition to Elon Musk's SpaceX, is limited to being its founder.

As of this writing, it is unclear where Project Prometheus will be based. As for Jeff Bezos' co-founder and co-chief executive, it is Vik Bajaj, a physicist-chemist who previously worked with Sergey Brin, the co-founder of Google.

The New York Times has also confirmed that the project has already employed over 100 people, including researchers from some of the leading AI companies: OpenAI, DeepMind, and Meta.

Fellow tech titan and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is also reportedly eyeing a Prometheus project: a 1 gigawatt AI "supercluster" based in New Albany, Ohio. However, further details about the same currently remain scarce.
