Sean "Diddy" Combs' has been sentenced to more than four years in prison, as reported by the New York Times.
The Associated Press has reported that the disgraced Bad Boy Records founder, who was convicted in July on two prostitution-related charges, appeared in court on Friday, October 3, for his sentencing hearing. Diddy was acquitted of the more egregious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, though he will now be tried under the Mann Act.
According to live updates from AP, prosecutors are pushing for 11 years and 3 months behind bars. As of this writing, the court has taken a short break, with prosecutor Christu Slavik addressing the judge last for her rebuttal. She reportedly read aloud a letter from Diddy's ex-girlfriend and alleged victim, Cassie Ventura.
“My experience was real, horrific, and deserves to be considered,” Cassie wrote.
Diddy is reportedly expected to address the court when the hearing is back in session.

According to the live feed from CBS News, in her presentation to the judge, the prosecutor dubbed Combs a "master puppeteer" who had not reformed and hid behind his public standing.
“The defendant is a master puppeteer of his own image. He uses his wealth and power to portray a very specific image to the world, but that image is incomplete and misleading," she remarked.
She rebuffed the defense's portrayal of him as a philanthropic man before she cited “the words of one person whose life the defendant has changed," i.e., Cassie.
At the hearing, Combs's pastor, Reverend Gary Johnson, spoke on his behalf. He reportedly said he believed the rapper could redeem himself, adding that he would be personally responsible for Combs' reformation. He also claimed that a longer prison stint would not benefit the rapper.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo suggested impactful treatment for both mental health and domestic violence, in addition to rehabilitation programmes.
“I’m not asking for a light sentence. I’m asking to get to the root problem, and the root problem is his mental health,” Agnifilo said.
He also suggested that the judge reduce Combs' sentence to 14 months, which according to CNN Entertainment, is time he already served.
“I know it’s a lot to ask that your honor release him, but he’s been punished — he’s been punished in maybe one of the most public ways,” Agnifilo said. “Everybody knows what happened to Sean Combs, and what happened to Sean Combs is just immensely destructive in every way.”
