IShowSpeed has announced that a rematch with Noah Lyles is afoot.
The Twitch streamer has the internet buzzing with the announcement, seeing as he already raced "the fastest man in the world" in the past. The former, who is also known for his athletic prowess, raced the American gold medalist in November last year.
At the time, Lyles came out on top in the 50m race, nabbing a $100,000 prize from Mr. Beast, a fellow YouTuber, who served as the referee. However, it seems like he will be giving the 20-year-old a do-over soon, and the internet is thrilled. Scores are suggesting that IShowSpeed begin competing, such as this one user who penned on X:
"He should’ve been in the Olympics as well tbh."
The comments didn't end there:
"Lyles bouta get that smoke," one user quipped.
"The fact Speed even came close to beating him last time is insane," someone else pointed out.
"He’s about to dust him," another cheered on.
"ishowspeed is really over his head," a fourth user opined.
See how the rest of X is reacting:
"Does speed not realise that noah wasnt even trying his maximum and still dusted him," one fan remarked.
"That's awesome! Wishing iShowSpeed the best of luck in the rematch!" someone else penned.
"noah better pray speed don't run like he talks or it's over for him," another weighed in.
"boy doesn’t take loses well, does he?" yet another questioned.
A look back at IShowSpeed and Noah Lyles' previous match: "In raw speed I'm faster than you"
In November last year, when Noah Lyles and the Twitch streamer took their competition to the tracks, the former suggested that they train together:
"You should practice with me and then at the end of the week, we'll race again," he said at the time. "...You'll be faster, you'll know what to do, you'll have the techniques, you'll have the advantage. And then we can run the real man's race, the 100m."
IShowSpeed, born Darren Watkins Jr., jokingly shot back:
"I never ran track a day in my life. Like bro, in raw speed I'm faster than you. In raw speed."
Lyles, however, was unamused, noting that he "didn't even hit top speed." The athlete is most known for having come out with the gold medal in the 100m at the Paris Olympics last year. He also nabbed bronze in the 200m during the pandemic.
