The legal trouble surrounding Sean Diddy Combs met with a new development. In a recent superseding indictment filed in the Southern District of New York, the hip-hop mogul has been accused of threatening and physically abusing his employees.
According to New York prosecutors, Combs allegedly controlled his employees by making them comply with his demands. However, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, said Combs rejected the allegations.
The arraignment for the new allegations is scheduled for next week. Nonetheless, prosecutors believe the developments would not affect Diddy's May 5, 2025 trial. According to Agnifilo’s statement quoted by media outlets:
"Mr. Combs has said it before and will say it again: he vehemently denies the accusations made by the SDNY. He looks forward to his day in court when it will become clear that he has never forced anyone to engage in sexual acts against their will.”
He continued:
“Many former employees stand by his side, prepared to attest to the dedication, hard work, and inspiration they experienced while helping build groundbreaking, award-winning businesses."
The new indictment claims that Diddy pressured employees to work long hours with little rest by using threats, withholding pay, and even physical or psychological harm. It also alleges that he made them fear losing their jobs if they didn’t follow his orders.
In one case, Combs is accused of forcing an employee into physical acts through intimidation, financial control, and threats to their reputation. This was the second time he faced a superseding indictment since his September 16, 2024 arrest. According to ABC News, although there are no additional charges against him, the indictment contains only the latest allegations.
What more does the new indictment against Diddy entail?
The indictment accuses Combs of repeatedly assaulting women over several years, starting around 2009. It describes incidents where he allegedly hit, punched, dragged, kicked, and threw objects at them. Diddy's alleged violent behavior, according to the document reviewed by Variety, also extended to employees, witnesses, and others around him.
Moreover, it details accusations that his team arranged hotel rooms for his so-called "Freak Offs" parties, supplying controlled substances, baby oil, lubricant, fresh linens, and lighting. Prosecutors also alleged that employees were responsible for cleaning up afterward and coordinating travel for victims and escorts.
While no new victims or charges are named, the indictment claims that Combs’ staff, including security, household workers, assistants, and top supervisors were party to his alleged crimes.
In January 2025, Diddy was charged with an indictment accusing him of running a large criminal operation where he allegedly assaulted and trafficked women. He allegedly used his businesses to carry out these actions.
According to the indictment, when Combs faced potential harm to his reputation or legal trouble, he and his associates pressured victims and witnesses to stay quiet. They even bribed them. Prosecutors also claimed that Combs misled these individuals by giving them a false version of events to cover up his alleged crimes.
Back then, Marc Agnifilo responded by stating that the filing did not include any new charges and argued that the prosecution’s main argument was flawed. He also criticized the claim that two of Diddy’s former girlfriends were escorts, calling it baseless.
