Nicki Minaj has surpassed Doechii to become the second female rapper with the most monthly listeners on Spotify.
The Anaconda songstress now boasts 46.79M monthly listeners on the music streaming platform, and fans are flocking to X to rejoice. Scores online are lauding her for her talent, though a large number of them are also appreciating her for staying relevant throughout the years. Here's how one fan reacted on X, for instance:
"Her longevity is INSANE."
The comments didn't end there:
"QUEEN OF RAP. No new music. Let’s GO!!!!" one fan exclaimed.
"Notice how she had less monthly listeners than her and doja yet consistently outstreamed them," someone else pointed out.
"Nicki did this with no new single or album. Not the swamp drying out," another chimed in.
"She didn’t even release anything," yet another pointed out.
Here's how the rest of X is reacting:
"The obsession is real," one fan penned.
"Finally bruh, peace is restored," someone else quipped.
"Only one of them has a grammy," one Doechii fan pointed out.
"Mind you onika has been in the music industry for centuries and is struggling to take over a woman with one well known album," yet another fan noted.
Fans were visibly divided, though a large number of them did point out that the feat is praise-worthy, seeing as the last time Nicki Minaj released an album was in December 2023, titled Pink Friday 2.
Doechii says Nicki Minaj is her inspiration: Read more
While fans have long tried to stir up a conflict between Nicki Minaj and Doechii, the latter sat down with Genius Verified in January 2025, to reveal that the veteran rapper has always been an inspiration to her. She told the outlet that some of her biggest influences include Eminem, Slick Rick, and Nicki Minaj, as she said:
"I also have a lot of Eminem influence. That Slick Rick, even Nicki Minaj – the way she animates her voice to evoke an emotion."
She doubled down on the sentiments during an interview with Billboard, as she told host Drew Afualo after having just been awarded the title of 2025 Billboard Women in Music Woman of the Year:
"Wow, who do I give flowers to to getting me here? It has to be my mother. It would be my little sister for supporting me and critiquing me. My coaches and artists that came before me, like Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, Erykah Badu, Beyoncé, etc," she said of whom she would attribute her success to.
It seems like there's no beef between Nicki Minaj and Doechii, contrary to what the legion of fans on either side thinks. The former has yet to share her opinion on the Denial Is A River songstress, so in the meantime, it's all left to speculation.
