Following the verdict of his infamous federal sex trafficking trial, Diddy reportedly got down on his knees and clasped his hands, seemingly in prayer.

The disgraced mogul has been acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which were the gravest charges that could have sentenced him to life behind bars. However, he has been convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

According to live updates from CNN, the rapper had been sitting with his hands crossed over his lap when the jury began reading the verdict. Upon hearing "not guilty," he lowered his head into his hands. Upon hearing the same phrase again for the second sex trafficking charge, he made a subtle fist pump.

At one point, before being escorted out of the courtroom flanked by marshals, Diddy got down on his knees and bowed his head, as if he was praying, the outlet has reported. He then stood up and turned to the gallery before he clapped, eliciting an uproar of cheer and silence from the gallery.

Per the outlet, his attorneys shared hugs while he turned to his family, including his mother, Janice Combs, and told them:

“I’ll be home soon," he said, and “I love you, baby.” he added, “Thank you. Love you mom. I love you. I love you. I love you.”

Diddy's family members were seen wiping away their tears, while defense attorney Teny Geragos hugged them with tears streaming down her own cheeks, a live feed of the courtroom shared by CNN states.

The latest developments in Diddy's infamous case explored as the jury reaches a bombshell verdict:

As of this writing, Judge Arun Subramanian, who presided over the case, has yet to decide if he will release Diddy before his sentencing. The rapper is looking at up to 20 years in prison, 10 years each for the two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution he was found guilty of.

He pointed out that the decision would likely take time, as it would mean giving the attorneys time to pen their arguments in favor of and against the mogul's release, ABC News has reported. However, this decision is expected to come today, as the letters are expected to be handed in by 1 p.m. ET.

Diddy's defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, has contended that his client should be released today.

“I am not saying it is not a serious crime. It is a crime of a vastly different nature,” he said. “I believe that a significant change in conditions is warranted.”

He said at another point,

“Mr. Combs has been given his life by this jury." He would be “nothing short of a fool” if he infringed on any of the conditions set by the court if he were to be released. “He treasures, I assure you, the opportunity that he has been given, and he will not run afoul of anything this court imposes on him,” he said.

He also assured the judge that his client would head straight to his residence in Miami and that he would refrain from violating any of the stipulations set by the court. CNN has reported that Diddy is barred from accessing his private jet, and that his family, “any three of them, any five of them can sign onto a bond," Agnifilo said.

When the judge asked the defense attorney,

"Is your proposal that he leave this courtroom and walk outside?" he replied affirmatively.

However, prosecutor Maurene Comey has disclosed that the government intends to attain “significant incarceration” for the Bad Boy Records founder, 55. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, which served as prosecutors in the trial, has since issued a statement:

"Sex crimes deeply scar victims, and the disturbing reality is that sex crimes are all too present in many aspects of our society. Victims endure gut-wrenching physical and mental abuse, leading to lasting trauma. New Yorkers and all Americans want this scourge stopped and perpetrators brought to justice."

It goes on,

"Prosecuting sex crimes requires brave victims to come forward and tell their harrowing stories. We and our law enforcement partners recognize the hardships victims endure and have prioritized a victim-centered approach to investigating and prosecuting these cases," the statement concluded.

Diddy has been behind bars since September, when he was arrested. His lawyers pressed for bail several times, with each attempt proving futile. He'd pleaded not guilty to all the charges at the time, with him and his attorneys consistently maintaining his innocence.
