How did Joshua Blackledge die? TikToker’s cause of death revealed 3 months after passing

Joshua Blackledge's cause of death has been revealed, three months after it was announced he died.

The TikToker, 16, died by suicide on March 18, documents obtained by Us Weekly state. No drug paraphernalia was located at the scene, though the outlet has reported that there was a teddy bear, a paper note, and a picture. A family member found his lifeless body. Furthermore, in the documents, his family said that Blackledge had “exhibited behavioral changes” over the last year.

Back in March, it was reported that he was found dead at his home in Newport, North Carolina. An obituary posted by Noe-Brooks Funeral Home reads as follows, in part:

“Joshua will be remembered by those who knew him for his enthusiasm and love for life. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.”

Phil Star Life has reported that a celebration of Joshua Blackledge's life was held on March 23 at Camp Albemarle in Newport. He had over a million followers on TikTok, where he would regularly post lip-syncing videos and content related to cars:

"He had a passion for the outdoors and loved being around water, whether fishing or boating with friends. He also had a love for cars and trucks," the obituary further read, revealing that he was a junior at West Carteret High School at the time of his demise.

Joshua Blackledge also shared several videos with his girlfriend, Emmie Gillikin, whom he had reportedly been dating for two years. She has regularly been sharing tributes since his demise. One of her most recent posts reads as follows:

"I miss you more than anything, each day gets harder and harder but knowing one day I’ll be up there with you makes things easier. Continue keeping me safe Josh I see you every single evening. I love you Josh don’t ever forget that, can’t wait to see you up there waiting for me."

Blackledge last uploaded a video on TikTok on Saturday, March 15, merely days before his demise. In it, he could be seen spending time with his friends in a white pick-up truck:

"At home, Joshua liked helping his mom with cooking, gardening, and yard work. He had an energetic spirit and was known for his entertaining nature, often impressing others with backflips. Joshua will be remembered by those who knew him for his enthusiasm and love for life. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing," the obituary goes on.

Carteret County Public School Foundation also took to Instagram to pen a tribute:

"Thank you for the outpouring of love and support for Josh Blackledge’s family during this incredibly difficult time. Your kindness is felt deeply and truly makes a difference. 💙," it read, coupled with a photo of the late star.

Rustyn Gambardella, who has made several appearances in Joshua Blackledge's TikTok videos, also expressed his condolences:

"Losing a person you view as a brother is one of the worst things I’ve been through. Josh always made me happy being around him and we had so many memories together. He will be greatly missed," he shared on the platform back in March.

Joshua Blackledge leaves behind his dad, Jonathan, his mom, Jackie, and brother, Josiah:

"Joshua will be remembered by those who knew him for his enthusiasm and love for life," the ode reads. "May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing."
