Elon Musk recently sat for a long interview with Indian businessman and podcaster Nikhil Kamath. In this interview, aired on November 30, Musk discussed his kids and expressed his concern over the declining rate of population growth.

The tech billionaire has remained an advocate of having more children. According to People, Elon Musk has 14 kids whom he shares with four partners. Musk first became a father in 2002 and his eldest son was Nevada Alexander, who passed away within weeks after his birth. Recently, Musk and his partner, Shivon Zilis, welcomed a son in February this year.

In the Sunday episode of Kamath's podcast, Musk discussed his children. He also asserted that people should have more kids to maintain the replacement level.

"I mean, I think we fundamentally have to... have kids or grow extinct, you know?" Elon Musk commented.

The SpaceX founder also believes that population growth leads to higher consciousness among people.

"If we want to expand consciousness, then fewer humans is worse, because we have less consciousness... Just like consciousness increases from a single-celled creature to, you know, a 30 trillion-celled creature. We're more conscious than a bacteria. At least, it seems that way. So, a larger human population will have increased consciousness. We're more likely to understand the answers to the nature of the universe if we have a lot more people than if we have fewer," he added.

During the episode, Musk shared about his kids; he even joked that he was trying to get an "entire Roman Legion." When Kamath asked the Tesla CEO if he intends to adopt any children, he replied:

"You know, I definitely have my hands full right now. So, no, I'm not opposed to it, but it's like, you know... I do wanna be able to spend some time with my kids."

Musk also shared that he loved to spend time with his kids. He also stated when kids grow up it becomes difficult to interact with them. Further in the conversation, the Indian podcaster asked Elon Musk the "best thing" about having kids.

"I mean, you've got this little creature that loves you, and you love this little creature. I don't know, you kind of see the world through their eyes as they... you know, as they grow up, and their conscious awareness increases. You know, from a baby that has no idea what's going on, can't survive by itself, can't even walk around, can't talk, to, you know, they start walking, then talking, and then having interesting thoughts," Musk responded.

Elsewhere in the interview, Elon Musk discussed his AI and his ongoing projects. He also touched on some philosophical topics.
