K-pop band, SEVENTEEN's Woozi and Hoshi are 28 and 29, respectively. Woozi or Lee Ji Hoon and Kwon Soon-young or Hoshi, are scheduled to begin their mandatory military service in September, 2025, as per PLEDIS Entertainment's official statement on July 8,
"Seventeen members Woozi and Hoshi will enlist for their military duties in mid-September. Woozi will start active service on September 15, followed by Hoshi on September 16. Before enlisting, they will take part in the 'HOSHI X WOOZI FAN CONCERT (WARNING)' and the SEVENTEEN 5th Studio Album Yizhiyu video call fan signing as their final official activities."
The statement continued,
"After begininng their service, they will pause participation in group activities but plan to stay connected with CARAT through pre-recorded content."
The Entertainment company also asked fans to avoid visiting the enlistment site in person for privacy and safety concerns and encouraged supporters to send their messages through the Weverse platform instead.
In South Korea, mandatory military service requires all-able bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 to serve in the armed forces for a period of 18 to 21 months. Men can be assigned to the Korean army, navy or air force and is a practice stemming from the ongoing security situation with North Korea.

K-pop band, SEVENTEEN's 9 out of 13 members will be completing their mandatory military service in the upcoming years. Before Woozi and Hoshi, Jeonghan began his military service in October, 2024, and Wonwoo in April, 2025.
SEVENTEEN in a May 28, Hollywood Reporter cover story discussed what the future holds for the group as members including, Jeonghan, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino prepare to enlist.
Members Joshue, The 8 and Jun are not South Korean citizens and S. Coups is exempt from enlisting due to an injury.
Hoshi in a new interview said,
"This is something that has been inevitable for us all along. We have been prepared. We have a lot of projects that we have discussed with [HYBE] very thoroughly up until now."
Jeonghan and Wonwoo who are currently serving have recorded their contributions to the group's fifth album, Happy Burstday before their enlistment. The band also promised that military service will not slow or disband them with S.Coups adding,
"We are standing at a new starting line, preparing for a new path ahead and ready to blaze a new trail."
