New details are emerging about P2istheName, the YouTube star who was found dead in Los Angeles at the age of 26.
The Daily Mail has reported that the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner issued the streamer's cause of death on Tuesday, which cites natural causes. The YouTuber, whose real name was Philip Enewally, reportedly succumbed to 'sudden cardiac dysfunction.'
The medical examiner further touted 'solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy' as the causal factor behind his sudden cardiac arrest, noting that the condition is a 'subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a risk factor for a sudden fatal cardiac event.'
P2istheName's life and legacy explored as the YouTuber reportedly lamented his dwindling viewership before his untimely demise:
People Magazine has reported that P2istheName was discovered “unresponsive at his residence” on March 14. He was pronounced dead at 3:11 p.m. local time by the responding fire department personnel, and the medical examiner corroborated the same.
TMZ first broke the news that the streamer was discovered dead in a mailroom in his apartment building in Los Angeles County just after he collapsed, and his mother reportedly confirmed the claims. The New York Post has reported that paramedics were unable to resuscitate him.
As of this writing, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol contributed to his demise, though the Daily Mail has reported that no such substance was present in his system when he died. Per the outlet, the LA County Medical Examiner will release a full report on his demise soon.
P2istheName was a prolific figure online, as he boasted 4 million subscribers on YouTube, where he had been active for over a decade. His content spanned playing video games, such as Fortnite and NBA 2K, vlogging, pranking, and more.
In the wake of the news of his demise, fellow YouTuber COLETHEMAN took to X to offer his condolences:
“I’m honestly at a loss for words,” he wrote to his 1 million subscribers. “He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice. May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”
P2istheName's final video was uploaded on YouTube on February 24, titled “A regular night with my rich ‘psychotic’ friends.” He had also recently launched a clothing line called DontMindUs, as well as a production company called Iced Entertainment.
One of his last videos, "I Made My Own Clothing Brand and It Actually Worked,” saw him reflect on his journey as he got emotional:
"I'm trying not to cry right now. God is amazing, bro. God is amazing. [If y'all could only see] what it took to get here," he said. Later in the video, he added, “... I literally was praying in the car for a beautiful drop, thanking God for even giving me the creativity to put this together.”
P2istheName was also planning on shifting from Los Angeles to Atlanta. In some videos uploaded shortly before his demise, he could be seen out and about in his CyberTruck as he packed up and shipped out clothing consignments.
He also got candid about the hit he had taken to his viewership on YouTube, the New York Post has reported, adding that he felt "lost." He also reportedly reflected on how the future of his content was shrouded in uncertainty. Per the outlet, his recent videos amassed between 20,000 to 60,000 views on average, paling in comparison to his old videos that once drew millions of views.
