Kai Cenat is admitting he’s not on the same level as The Shop Live stars like LeBron James.
In videos circulating online, the Twitch streamer can be seen sitting among sports heavyweights like Tom Brady, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Victor Wembanyama, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Caleb Williams, and Ja’Marr Chase. Kevin Costner, Spike Lee, Jay-Z, Travis Scott, and NBA star Victor Wembanyama were also present at Fanatics Fest.
At one point, when asked if he felt like he belonged on that panel, he replied with a definite, “Hell, no!”
"I just told you I don't even know how I'm here," he said. "It's like sometimes, you just gotta glaze," he added. "I feel amazing, I feel great to be here right now. I feel like I'm at the barbershop with GOATS right now," he noted. "I'm glazing, I don't care at all."
Here's everything you need to know about Fanatics Fest and the rumors that Kai Cenat was recently shot:
Fanatics Fest kicked off in New York City on June 20 and will run until June 22. The company, founded by Michael Rubin, is expected to bring together a host of entertainers, artists, and athletes.
“It’s a heck of a challenge, I wouldn’t say it’s fun. Most of what we do is fun, I don’t consider this to be fun,” Rubin told The Hollywood Reporter about booking stars to sit on the panel at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. “Look, what I will tell you is, there’s not another company in the world that could create Fanatics Fest, because putting it on the show is hard enough. But then, we’re going to have 300, 400 of the biggest athletes, celebrities, artists in the world come together. It’s really because of the broader partnerships that they have with Fanatics. Everyone coming here is someone that has a partnership with Fanatics, and that’s why they come.”
The Shop, shot in a barbershop-style format and broadcast live this week, was produced by Uninterrupted. It runs for 30–45 minutes, with thousands of fans witnessing its panel of giants converse. Tom Brady was seen engaging with fans and signing autographs alongside the other stars on the panel.
“It’s for people that are really important to Jay and to us, and that really is the athletes, celebrities, artists that are there, and then our most important VIPs across Fanatics’ business,” Rubin told the outlet. “It’s something that’s made to be highly curated. You know, there’s 100,000-plus people at Fanatics Fest, the people that come into 40/40 are measured in the hundreds.”
As for Kai Cenat, he made headlines a few days ago when rumors suggested he was the victim of a shooting during one of iShowSpeed’s live broadcasts. Phrases like “RIP Kai Cenat” and “Kai Cenat shot” began gaining traction online, sparking concern.
However, as of this writing, there is no evidence that he sustained any such injury, and he appeared completely fine at the event this week. Furthermore, neither news outlets nor law enforcement have reported on the incident, indicating that these were just rumors after all.
Notably, though, Kai Cenat was the target of swatting during his Mafiathon livestream in November. At the time, he shared a snapshot of law enforcement officials standing outside his home on X, with the caption:
"Getting swatted smh… hold tight."
