JD Vance is breaking his silence on Elon Musk and President Donald Trump's notorious public feud.
On the latest episode of This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von, which came out this Thursday, the Vice President was making a guest appearance when Musk issued one of the most infamous tweets to come out of his exchange. At the time, the Tesla CEO claimed,
“@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” He added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out."
Vance, visibly shocked, said:
“Ok, wow. I haven’t even seen this one,” adding that he was on a plane while Musk and Trump were battling it out. “First of all, absolutely not. Donald Trump didn't do anything wrong with Jeffrey Epstein,” he added. “Whatever the Democrats and the media says about him, that's totally BS.”

During his interview with Theo Von, JD Vance asked him when the episode would be airing, "just so your audience is aware," prompting Von to jokingly say that it would be out within minutes. However, he later reassured Vance that he was kidding:
“I’m just saying, like, presumably when this comes out, people are gonna know more about this than even I do because this kind of happened on the plane when I was coming on down here,” JD Vance said.
According to CNN, Elon Musk and Trump have been engaged in a highly publicized feud for days now, with the former even claiming at one point that the incumbent president wouldn't have won his bid had it not been for him. Trump told White House reporters on Thursday:
“Elon and I had a great relationship. I don’t know if we will anymore. I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”
During the podcast, JD Vance said, as he sipped on Celsius,
“Oh, my God. See, this is what I’m talking about.”
Von jokingly asked him if he was talking about campaigning, though the Vice President brushed the comment off before adding,
“This stuff is just not helpful,” Vance said of Musk. “Politics is a place where people stab each other in the back. You can’t get anything done, unless you’re all on the same team and you’re actually committed to getting stuff done together,” he continued. “The idea that … the president should be impeached — I’m sorry, it’s insane.”
He also gave a diplomatic response to Musk's comments, as he expressed hope that the two might mend their bond. However, he did acknowledge that the Epstein comment cast a long shadow:
“I’m the vice president to President Trump. My loyalties are always going to be with the president, and I think that Elon, he’s an incredible entrepreneur,” JD Vance said, adding, “I hope that eventually Elon kind of comes back into the fold. Maybe that’s not possible now, because he’s gone so nuclear.”
Musk has since deleted several of his posts from Thursday, including one where he suggested that the president should be impeached and Vance should step in instead. Nonetheless, his criticism of his former friend is still up on his page as of this writing.
