Halsey took to X on November 5 to celebrate Zohran Mamdani's win. Mamdani, 34, became New York City's first Muslim mayor and defeated former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Silwa. While celebrating Mamdani's win, Halsey said,

"I just got off stage from an AMAZING show and Zohran Mamdani is mayor of New York and I am NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO SLEEP I'm too ALIVE!"

Halsey took the stage in Boston on November 3 after she said she had a "minor medical emergency" after her first of two concerts at MGM Music Hall in Boston.

The singer is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album Back to Badlands tour. She has more shows lined up across the US, and will kick off a second North American leg next January, before heading to Europe, the U.K and Australia.

What other celebs other than Halsey have shown support for Zohran Mamdani?

Halsey is not the only celeb celebrating Zohran Mamdani's win as New York City mayor. Actress Lupita Nyong'o in an Instagram post earlier recalled the first time she met Mamdani 20 years ago, when she was an intern at Mamdani's mother Mira Nair's Mirabai films. Nyong'o noted she cast her vote for Mamdani since he has "the personality, the skills, and temperament, to be an excellent mayor of New York City."

Actor Mark Ruffalo and comedian Ilana Glazer volunteered to work a phone bank for Mamdani in the final days of his campaign. Actor Wallace Shawn was also canvassing for Mamdani in the East Village. Filmmaker Spike Lee, during an August interview with CNN anchor Victor Blackwell, said that he would be voting for Mamdani because "we have to move forward for equality for New Yorkers."

Mamdani had also received support from model Emily Ratajkowski, who wore a "Hot Girls for Zohran" T-shirt in a video she posted with Mamdani and urged New Yorkers to vote for him. During his mayor win speech at Brooklyn's Paramount Theater, Mamdani gave a speech promising a "new dawn" for New York and said,

"If any city can show a nation how to stop Donald Trump, it is the city that gave rise to him."

He then addressed U.S. President Trump and said,

"Donald Trump, since I know you're watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up."

Trump is yet to directly respond to Mamdani's comments.
