Olivia Rodrigo voices support for immigrant communities and protest rights
Olivia Rodrigo speaks out on deportations and backs nationwide protests. Her Rodrigo Instagram story read:

“I’ve lived in LA my whole life, and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbors under the current administration,” Olivia Rodrigo posted. “LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful. I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”
Later, she made another post with a photo of protesters holding signs that said “NO KINGS in our USA,” though she didn’t add any extra words to it.
Nationwide "No Kings" protests coincide with military parade and presidential birthday
On June 14, Saturday, Washington, D.C. featured a military parade celebrating the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary, according to a report on Yahoo! Entertainment. The event happened to fall on President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
Meanwhile, protests took place at almost 2,000 locations across the country. Organizers called these demonstrations the “No Kings Day of Defiance.” The 50501 Movement, a grassroots group active in every state, led the protests.
The movement reportedly wants to challenge what it alleges is growing control by the federal executive branch over power. The name “50501” stands for 50 states, 50 protests, and one united cause. Organizers believe the military parade, which included M1 Abrams tanks and Paladin howitzers, acted as a show of federal strength that allegedly posed threat to the country’s democratic ethos.
The group has also spoken out against the administration’s policies and steps touching on immigration civil rights and federal control. They claim that government actions like ramped-up ICE raids and surveillance have caused fear and chaos in immigrant communities.
The 50501 Movement alleged the administration ignored judicial limits, carried out detentions, and favored the wealthy and large companies. These issues sparked nationwide protests under the slogan "No Kings."
