Emilie Kiser is back to posting content on TikTok four months after her son tragically died at the age of 3.
The influencer took to the social media platform just this week for the first time since her son, Trigg, accidentally drowned in May. She confided that it's therapeutic for her to create content, though she's not going to act like everything is okay, she said.
She also admitted to being unsure about how candid she wants to be about her grieving process, adding that she's not fully ready as things have been "really hard" for her since she lost her firstborn. Emilie Kiser shared Trigg with her husband, Brady Kiser. They also have another son, Theodore.
Everything we know about Emilie Kiser's son's harrowing demise as influencer opens up about the grievance process:
As reported by TMZ, in her video, Emilie Kiser did not mention her husband's name. The latter was at the center of an investigation for child abuse after Trigg died in the family pool.
At the time, prosecutors for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Arizona did not pursue charges. However, per the outlet, Brady knew that his son was playing outside near the pool without supervision. Investigators reportedly called for potential "child abuse with criminal negligence" charges.
ABC News has reported that Emilie Kiser was not at home when her son died. Brady Kiser was alone with their two sons. Trigg was in the pool for seven minutes before Brady pulled him out. Per NBC News, he was unsupervised for at least nine minutes, and he
"did not go into the water intentionally, rather he tripped and fell in while playing with an inflatable chair," a police report stated.
He was rushed to the Phoenix Children's Hospital, where he died six days later.
In August, Emilie Kiser opened up about her son's tragic demise in a post on Instagram. For her first post in three months, she opened up in a heartfelt post about her loss:
"Loss of this magnitude feels impossible to put into words. I've spent days, weeks, months trying to find them and also take the time I've needed to digest the loss of my baby," Kiser wrote.
She also referred to her departed son as her and her husband's "best friend."
"Trigg is our baby and our best friend. The light and spirit he brought into this world was bright, pure, joyful, and undeniable," the mom and social media influencer wrote. "We miss him every second of every day and continuing forward often feels unbearable. I never thought we would experience grief in this way or the pain of losing him so suddenly," she continued. "It's a pain, heartache, and void that no family should ever have to endure."
She also acknowledged that her son's demise could have been preventable:
"I take full accountability as Trigg's mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him. One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it's something I will never overlook again," Emilie Kiser wrote. "I hope amidst this pain, Trigg's story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss."
Furthermore, she thanked her friends, family, and followers for their "unconditional love" and support.
"I have always been my authentic self on social media and tried my best to share my everyday life honestly, while also being mindful of what I didn't choose to share," Kiser wrote. "I now have seen through this tragedy how relationships online lack boundaries, especially in protecting children's privacy. Moving forward, I will be establishing more boundaries with what I share online."
She continued,
"In the future, I hope to be in a place to share more about how I am navigating this grief, but right now, all I can say is thank you for the love, compassion, patience and space you've given us to grieve," she concluded. "I am more grateful for it than can ever be expressed."
