Before getting into the contents of Megan Thee Stallion's most recent public statement against her organization, it is important to note the long-running legal and personal fight between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion.
Lanez was convicted of assault in December 2022, with a semiautomatic firearm for shooting a bullet that left Megan with foot injuries, back in July 2020. This incident has remained a sole factor for her strong opposition to violence against women.
Megan Thee Stallion takes a dig at Tory Lanez, accuses him of harassment: more details
In July 2020, Tory Lanez shot her in the foot, which ruined their relationship. Lanez was eventually given a 10-year prison term for attacking someone with a semiautomatic firearm. Even when the court ruled in Megan's favor, her side and other internet users kept spreading conspiracy theories that cast doubt on her account. This led to her most recent public outburst.
On May 19, 2025, Megan spoke to her more than 50 million TikTok followers in a nocturnal post that made it very clear what she meant using a succession of videos and text overlays. First, she went after the new evidence that Lanez's lawyers had given:
“At what point are y’all gonna stop making me have to re‑live being shot BY TORY!?”
She further added:
“How much is the check to keep harassing me? Why is this happening EVERY DAY?”
Megan Thee Stallion ultimately gave her toughest scolding, with sentences in all capitals flashing across the screen:
“I’m sick of this sh*t LEAVE ME TF ALONE!!!! HE AIN’T DARE GET ON THAT STAND AND DENY HE SHOT ME… FACTS ARE FACTS, he did it, it was PROVEN IN COURT, f*ck the hate campaign on the internet; TORY, YOU SHOT ME!!”
Megan has spoken about the several times she was harassed after Lanez was found guilty. These include messages from anonymous accounts, websites, and even persons who were supposedly hired by Lanez to make her accusations seem inadequate.
In December 2024, she was able to secure a protective order after showing that Lanez had organized a psychological warfare campaign while he was in jail, getting other people to hurt her mental health and reputation.
Lanez was found guilty of three crimes when he accidentally shot Megan in July 2020: assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying a loaded unlicensed gun, and discharging a gun with gross carelessness.
In December 2024, Megan Thee Stallion got a restraining order against Lanez when it was determined that he had been harassing her for a long time and had even gotten famous social media users to spread false information about her.
Lanez has released music while he's in jail, including the "Prison Tapes" series, but Megan has promptly replied to his attempts to bring up the shooting in his songs, most famously in her diss tune "Shots Fired 2020."
