Sean John Combs, commonly known by his stage name, Diddy, is considered to be one of the wealthiest musical artists. The 55-year-old rapper, who is currently been held at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, was arrested in September 2024, as he was charged with five criminal counts that included counts of s*x trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. His trial began on May 12, 2025.

During Diddy's federal criminal trial on May 16, 2025, in Manhattan Federal court, Cassandra Ventura, commonly known as Cassie, testified that her former romantic partner allegedly r*ped her, physically abused her, and forced her into inappropriate and drug-fueled acts of s*x.

Cassie is currently married to Alex Fine, with whom she shares two children and is pregnant with a third. She was in a romantic relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018. She is allegedly one of Diddy's victims, as she is yet to recover from the May 6, 2016, incident, when she was brutally beaten and kicked while lying curled on the floor, and was dragged into the room at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles.

While Cassie testified against Diddy in the Manhattan Federal court, she read the shocking text message in front of the jury that Diddy sent her days after violently assaulting her.

Diddy's first message to Cassie after brutally beating her read (via People Magazine):

"I’m so h*rny for you!!!"

To which Cassie back then replied:

"You are? What made you feel that way?"

Then Diddy replied, saying:

"Felt that way from Friday. What you doing?"

The "Friday" here is about Friday, May 6, 2016, when the InterContinental Hotel incident took place. As the eight-month pregnant Cassie stood there on the witness stand, she testified that at the time, she felt strange, wondering why Diddy would have such a s*xual desire towards her after beating her.

After a couple of more text messages, in which Diddy ultimately dismissed whatever happened on Friday and stated that he doesn't want to repeat that, referring to his attack on Cassie.

It was Cassie's fourth consecutive day in court as she faced cross-examination by Diddy's lawyers, who tried to show that it was not only Diddy who was at fault, but even Cassie had her interests as they were in a turbulent relationship. Diddy's attorneys also tried to show the jury that Cassie, at times, willingly participated in Diddy's s*x sessions, which he called "Freak Off sessions".

However, if Diddy gets convicted on all the above-mentioned counts, he could face life imprisonment.
