Jason Kelce is not too pleased with his new beard 'do.

The retired NFL athlete, 37, sat down for the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, where he spoke with co-host Travis Kelce, 35, his brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, about his beard mishap.

"This is not the right color, it's way too dark," he said on the Wednesday, August 27 episode. "It looks like I took shoe polish to my face."

Explaining that he incorrectly mixed some light brown hair dye with dark brown hair dye, he said:

"I came out of the shower, immediately I looked like Billy Mays." The former Eagles star continued, "I was gonna do this bit where we go back in time, so I wanted to be younger. Initially, I was going to shave my beard completely, and then I was like, 'Yeah I'm not doing that, I hate my face too much. So, I'm gonna keep the beard but I'll dye it to make me look younger.' But we didn't play chemistry very well and I ended up coming out a little darker than I was expecting."

He lamented,

"I miss my grays. I can't wait for this to grow back out. It is kind of growing on me, though. I do feel like I look pretty good with the dark beard. I didn't do it out of vanity, I did it for a bit, that's all I'm saying."

Elsewhere in the segment, Jason Kelce also tried to goad his brother into sharing more details about his beau's forthcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

“I’m knee-deep right now in the Swiftie Easter egg hunting,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center said in the episode. “You know I am, because I keep sending you and Tay stuff I keep reading. I know you guys don’t want to read it, but I’m freaking gonna make you guys read it, because I’m interested. You guys aren’t giving me f—ing anything, which is pissing me off even more.”

Travis responded with a laugh of amusement and chose to keep things mum. However, he did tease his brother, and the Swifties as well, about what to expect:

“I know [Taylor] mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats, but it’s just still so poetic in her melodies and her references and stuff,” Travis gushed. “It’s just so much fun to listen to, man. I’ve been dancing all throughout the house.”

The latest episode came a day after Jason Kelce's brother announced that he popped the big question to the songstress on Instagram.

“She’s incredibly brilliant, she’s very smart, she’s very funny, all of these things,” Jason Kelce said of Taylor Swift in a recent New Heights episode. “When she said you were a human exclamation point, I was like, ‘Goddamn.’ Like, she is f–king good with words.”

In today's episode, he said of his brother and his future sister-in-law:

"There is one gigantic piece of new news that just hit the waves. We did record this podcast on Monday, which is Travis's one day off. So, he is not here to address this himself. But, we felt necessary as a team, here at New Heights, to get together and send Travis and Taylor a huge congratulations for being engaged!"
