A video of a man arguing with ChatGPT, ordering it to count to 1 million, has gone viral on the internet. The video was uploaded on The Shade Room's Instagram page, and the internet is enjoying it as they are split between humor and annoyance at the man's orders and perseverance.

The video of the man using the AI platform Live is going viral everywhere. The man instructed the AI to start counting to one million. Nevertheless, the AI promptly refused, stating that the procedure would be time-consuming as it would take days and would be useless cause it served no practical purpose.

The man then started losing his patience and got irritated, saying that because he was unemployed and had already paid for a membership, he had plenty of spare time. The AI platform consistently refused to comply, telling him to think of other ways the AI might help, even as he urged it repeatedly.

The man started yelling at the AI as the discussion became increasingly heated. At one point, he also accused the AI platform of committing a crime, but it resisted, again reminding him of its ethical standards and refusing to participate in such conversations.

This has prompted people to try getting ChatGPT to count to a million with searches like “Why can’t ChatGPT count to one million? More specifically, why won’t ChatGPT count to a million?" on the internet.

Many tried, and to their disappointment, it has refused everyone.

But why did ChatGPT refuse to count to one million?

Well, it seems that there are some things that AI can not do, which is as simple as counting. According to a YouTube analysis by Unilad Tech:

"ChatGPT is more constrained by its own architecture than its actual ‘intelligence’. The models are designed to seek interaction and are motivated to keep the conversation flowing."

The narrator continued:

"A typical response when using the voice mode for ChatGPT is rarely longer than 15 seconds and if you were to count from one to one million at like two digits a second, it would take nearly six days, and for this reason ChatGPT can’t and ChatGPT won’t count to a million."

The narrator added that, though everything with AI might seem possible, there will always be restrictions:

"The more and more we’re seeing this where tasks that should be simple for AIs end up hitting all of these awkward kind of roadblocks on the way to a solution, and if the guardrails were taken off then technically these LLMs would be able to do these impossible tasks."
