“I don’t know how they sleep at night”: Rod Stewart makes critical remark at President Trump for US involvement in Israel’s war

Amid ongoing war tensions between Israel and Iran, singer and songwriter Rod Stewart has reportedly made remarks about Donald Trump. In an interview for Radio Times on June 17, Steward made candid remarks about his neighbor, Trump. Stewart reveals he lives "half a mile away" from Trump and they were once "friends".

Rod Stewart noted that he "liked" Trump and described him as a "man's man", per Billboard. However, he revealed there was a shift after the latter became the "president." Stewart disclosed that he "can't" consider the president his "friend" anymore after his alleged involvement with Israel. He claimed,

“As long as he’s selling arms to the Israelis — and he still is. How’s that war ever gonna stop?”

He thought about the ongoing crisis and expressed thoughts about the Israeli president, Benjamin Netanyahu. He said,

“What he is doing to the Palestinians is exactly what happened to the Jews. It’s annihilation, and that’s all he wants to do — get rid of them all. I don’t know how they sleep at night.”

Ahead of his performance at the Glastonbury festival on June 29, Rod Stewart expressed thoughts about his friendship with Donald Trump and how he feels about the performance. Rod had reportedly been Trump's friend before the 2016 presidential election and had described the latter as his "friend," per Billboard.

Stewart told Radio Times that he was "friends" with Trump before he became the "president." He noted that he would visit the latter's home for "Christmas parties."

Stewart claimed that Trump "didn't treat women well" and that he became "somebody" he doesn't recognize. He thought about his performances and noted that he tried to make a joke once about the president. He said,

“I had a little joke about him when he had all the tan, you know, the Orange Man. And: ‘Boooo!’"

Rod Stewart has made his allegiance clear by reportedly flying a flag for Ukraine during his performance of Rhythm Of My Heart, per Radio Times.


Rob Stewart has turned away from his former "friend" and claimed that the latter changed after becoming the "president." The veteran singer and songwriter expressed views about the current political dynamics and how they're reportedly impacting millions of lives.
