Rihanna has been dragged into Chris Brown's half-million-dollar lawsuit against Warner Bros. over one of their docuseries.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, the veteran singer's lawsuit was filed against Warner Bros. and Ample over three months ago, accusing them of defamation and painting "sensationalized" and "debunked claims" about his notorious past in their docuseries, Chris Brown: A History of V*olence. The R&B singer's legal team claimed, at the time, that he was painted as a "serial r*pist and s*xual abuser."

"Despite being provided with proof that their narrative was false," the documents stated, "They went ahead and aired the series anyway." They also added, "To put it simply this case is about the media putting their own profits over the truth."

However, Warner Bros. and the show's producers are pushing back, contending that the film is covered under the right to protected speech. They also hit back with a series of news articles as supporting evidence, several of which outlined Brown's infamous 2009 felony assault case involving his former girlfriend, Rihanna.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, the producers at Warner Bros. also name-dropped Karrueche, saying:

"All of these exhibits consist of news articles, or other media, published online about the work at issue in this case and its subject matter." The rep adds, "The widely publicized reporting of Chris Brown’s criminal history and violence towards women [...] are being introduced to demonstrate that the Complaint arises from acts in furtherance of Defendants’ free speech rights."

Back in 2009, Chris Brown, 34, was cuffed and charged with domestic violence after assaulting Rihanna. He was eventually forced to undergo five years of probation and domestic violence counseling. In 2017, Karrueche hit him with a restraining order for 5 years.

According to The Jasmine Brand, Michelle Taylor, one of the defendants, is rubbishing the producers' claims, alleging that they stem from "widely-reported, fully disclosed, and undisputed facts regarding [Chris’] highly-publicized assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, as well as numerous incidents of [Chris] threatening or violently assaulting others."

Brown's lawyers added:

“Warner Bros.’ statements are nonsense… It is ridiculous to take the position that their actions do not constitute malice.”

According to In Touch Weekly, his legal counsel went on:

“Mr. Brown has never been found guilty of any s*x related crime (r*pe, s*xual battery, s*xual assault etc.) but this documentary states in every available fashion that he is a serial r*pist and s*xual abuser."

At the time of writing, Chris Brown has yet to respond to his former girlfriends' names being dragged into his ongoing case.
