In another hilarious, internet-breaking side quest, IShowSpeed ended up meeting the man who is dubbed the “Chinese Donald Trump” during his long visit to China. While he was in Chongqing, he met a man who sounded exactly like President Donald Trump. They were sitting in a car together when the man left the streamer, dumbfounded. The man said, "Speed, it's my absolute pleasure to have you come to Chongqing, because Chongqing is an international city. We're gonna have fun here," in a near-perfect impression of the President.

Helps in naming Cambridge Word of the Year

In an unexpected turn of events, Speed indirectly helped name the Cambridge Word of the Year 2025, which is "Parasocial." It all happened due to an incident that took place in June, where one of his fans, X user @wynzmanz, created an entire thread detailing his past relationship with Vanessa. She had "compiled" evidence of the two together and how perfect they are for each other.

She posted in the thread,

"To Darren Watkins: a thread of the girl who truly liked you 🇱🇦💔💌 It’s over now, but you should know Vanessa had feelings for you all along. She never stopped. For months, she dropped hint after hint, hoping you'd notice, but you never did. I’ve gathered them all here for you."

She put together screenshots and past videos, "I know it began as a collab. The day you streamed with her, she posted this tt. She called it one of the best experiences, said you pushed her to improve her tt and launch a YouTube. She even stood up for you."

She referred to herself as IShowSpeed's "number 1 parasocial," which led to the creator blocking her and a sudden spike in the usage of the word as people started looking up the definition.

IShowSpeed had another life-changing moment this year when he won Streamer of the Year at the 2025 Streamer Awards that took place in Los Angeles. The show was watched by millions of fans as it was streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.

Out of all of his bizarre moments this year, another one that takes the cake is when the YouTuber surprised the crowd and his fans by entering WWE’s Royal Rumble. He was not expected to be a part of it, though he was quickly knocked out.

Dancing to Varun Dhawan’s Bijuria song

In another surprising collab, recently IShowSpeed went viral for dancing to Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan’s song Bijuria. The song, which is from the movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and sung by Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam, has hundreds and thousands of videos of people dancing to it and making reels with it. And Darren was another one of these people, as he made a video of himself doing his wild dance moves to the song.
