ATK Scotty and Ksoo both released statements on social media after being convicted.
Ksoo and ATK Scotty have been convicted of the murder of a Jacksonville rapper known as Lil’ Buck, whose real name is Charles McCormick Jr. The conviction has come five years after the rapper’s death, who was killed in a drive-by shooting.
Leroy “ATK Scotty” Whitaker took to social media after being found guilty and released a statement:
"I had an all white 12 jurors with 3 white state attorney's with aye white judge in aye court room with all white judges on the wall every black person that I could pick on my juror was struck by the state I jus showed the whole world how Jacksonville Florida is corrupt an my lawyers proved I was Innocent god got the last say so.."

Murder of Lil’ Buck
Whitaker, Hakeem “Ksoo” Robinson, and their accomplice Dominique “Butta” Barner were apparently looking for the rapper on January 15, 2020. After eventually finding him outside an Arlington shopping center, Ksoo opened fire.
Barner received a plea deal for testifying in the case and admitted to being the getaway driver in the assassination. According to authorities, McCormick’s death was gang-related. It was possibly caused by a diss track the rapper created, aimed at Robinson’s half-brother, Willie Addison, who was also killed in a drive-by shooting in 2019.
State Attorney Melissa Nelson stated after the verdicts:
"Five years ago, Hakeem Robinson and Leroy Whitaker stalked a man and gunned him down in broad daylight because of disputes and drill rap," State Attorney Melissa Nelson said after the verdicts were handed down. Today, a jury held them accountable for their brazen crimes. This was an incredible effort by law enforcement and our team that takes two killers off our streets. Thank you to the jury for their time and dedication."
The case took a turn when Hakeem’s own father testified against him in the controversial murder trial. The father was charged as an accessory to murder for allegedly picking up his son and Whitaker.
ATK Scotty and Ksoo are both charged with first-degree murder, and their sentencing hearings are scheduled for September 8.
