Utah Valley University student Hunter Kozak, who was the last person to speak to the late Charlie Kirk, finally broke his silence. The conservative right-wing political activist, Kirk, was shot dead on September 10, 2025, at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem. Hunter Kozak, the last individual who spoke to Kirk before his unfortunate death, was debating gun violence at the time. Kirk was fatally shot in the middle of the debate.

While Hunter Kozak broke his silence regarding the matter, he took to social media and posted a video on September 11, 2025, in which he discussed the unexpected incident and called Charlie Kirk's death a "tragedy." Charlie, who was married to Erika Kirk, a businesswoman and podcaster, shared a son and a daughter with her. Kozak took to TikTok and shared a video in which he said:

"I don't know how to make this video. It’s been a rough 24 hours."

In his TikTok video, Kozak made it clear that while he was strongly against many of the Turning Point USA founder's views, he condemned Kirk's brutal murder. Kozak also mentioned that he was against some people who supported and celebrated Kirk's death. Kozak continued and said:

"First off, you sick f***ng psychos that think this is the answer, it’s not. I don’t know what else to say."

Kozak further added:

"Charlie had two kids and a wife, and not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife. It’s a tragedy and it’s hard to grapple with. I’m part of a community that’s struggling to grapple with it right now."

As he made it clear that he never supported or approved of Charlie Kirk's views, Kozak emphasized that how he died was completely unacceptable and wrong. Kozak added:

"As much as I disagree with Charlie Kirk, I’m on the record for how much I disagree with Charlie Kirk, but, man, dude, he is still a human being. Have we forgotten that?"

The search for Charlie Kirk's killer is still in progress

As the authorities are still searching for Charlie's killer, on September 11, 2025, the FBI shared new photos and a video of an individual who could be involved in the murder of the right-wing political activist. In the footage, which was released at a press conference on September 11, the suspect can be seen escaping Utah Valley University, where Kirk was shot.

The suspect in the footage was seen wearing a "distinctive" black t-shirt with an American flag and an eagle on it. He also wore black trousers, a baseball cap, sunglasses, and what appeared to be Converse shoes. While the FBI released photos of the suspect, they also offered a reward for anyone who could help find him. The FBI took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a post that read:

"We are asking for the public’s help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. 1-800-CALL-FBI."
