JD Vance has sparked a meme fest on social media after he took shots at Hasan Piker over his recent Twitch controversy.

The Vice President sat down for a recent podcast interview, where he reflected on the allegations of animal abuse against the Twitch streamer, also known as HasanAbi.

"If you cause suffering in innocent animals, you're probably the kind of person that doesn't care about suffering in people as well," he said, as seen in now-viral clips.

He was referring to a recent clip of the Twitch streamer that also went viral, where his dog, Kaya, seemingly got electrocuted due to her abrupt movement, causing her to yelp with pain. Social media was quickly inundated with allegations that the streamer used a shock collar on her, though he has repeatedly maintained his innocence.

Nonetheless, fans have since begun poking fun at the situation, with many even crafting humorous memes. Some have even dubbed the scandal "collargate." Here's one meme, for instance:

For further context, earlier this month, Hasan Piker went viral after his dog yelping was caught on livestream. As reported by Forbes, he was promptly hit with allegations of animal cruelty, which he denied.

“Yes, I am incredibly abusive, to the not only best trained, but also the best behaving and most spoiled dog on the planet," he said, explaining that his dog yelped because of an accident, and not a shock collar. “She yelped because she f**king clipped herself on something when she was getting off the bed,” he said.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) said of the incident:

“Hasan Piker has denied using a shock collar on his dog, and we hope that’s true because shock collars are dangerous and downright cruel. They put dogs at risk of burn wounds, chronic anxiety, and displaced aggression.” PETA added, “positive reinforcement is a far more effective training method and doesn’t betray our animal companions’ trust in us.”

The Twitch streamer is most known for covering politics, video games, and pop culture on his livestreams. As of this writing, he holds the rank of the 22nd-most-subscribed channel on Twitch, which he does full-time.
