Former Vice President Kamala Harris is planning to publish a 2024 Campaign Memoir titled ‘107 Days.’ The book, which will be published through Simon & Schuster on 23 September, is set to portray her 107-day-long campaign and the candor she showcased through it.

In a video announcement on Thursday, she stated, "“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for president of the United States. One hundred and seven days traveling the country, fighting for our future – the shortest presidential campaign in modern history." She further added, "Since leaving office, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on those days and with candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind-the-scenes account of that journey. I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned and what it will take to move forward.”

She further declares, “With candor and reflection, I’ve written a behind the scenes account of that journey. I believe there’s value in sharing what I saw, what I learned, and what I know it will take to move forward. In writing this book, one truth kept coming back to me — sometimes the fight takes a while. But I remain full of hope, and I remain clear eyed. I will never stop fighting to make our country reflect the very best of its ideals, always on behalf of the people.”

Kamala Harris announces she won't be running for Governor

The book announcement comes a day after she officially announced she will not be running for Governor of California in 2026, according to The Guardian. Kamala Harris will also be giving an interview on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” which is her first since the 2024 election and comes on the heels of the show's cancellation announcement.

Simon & Schuster CEO Jonathan Karp said in a statement that,

“107 Days captures the drama of running for president better than just about anything I’ve read. It’s one of the best works of political nonfiction Simon & Schuster has ever published. It’s an eyewitness contribution to history and an extraordinary story,” and even called her "a singular American leader."

Though she has expressed that she won't be running for the position of Governor, it doesn't necessarily mean she won't be running for President in 2028. Through her rushed, on-the-spot campaign, which she had to take over midway through the elections, Harris showcased her different ideologies as compared to the current President. Harris was the first Black woman and South Asian woman to serve as Vice President.
