Lori Harvey shuts down criticism over her Cowboy Carter Tour outfit with a chic and subtle comment. The socialite and fashion "IT" girl attended the concert when the tour made a stop in Atlanta alongside her father, Steve Harvey; brothers Wynton and Broderick Harvey; and mother, Marjorie. Lori later posted pictures of her look on her Instagram account.
The look featured a white tank top and blue jeans paired with a brown and gold cowboy-style belt and a brown hat that looked like a cross between a bowler hat and a top hat. It was the hat in question that led to viewers critiquing her look.
In an exclusive with PEOPLE magazine during a recent set visit for her upcoming show Reasonable Doubt, she also addressed the comments on her hat, saying,
“I'm so glad you brought up this hat because if you do a little bit of research, my hat is actually on theme. Western is not just about a cowboy hat, so, you know, and it was Chanel, so keep it cute.”
Earlier, Lori Harvey also posted a story with her look, followed by a story of Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz in their 2006 film Bandidas, which was a Western action flick set in 19th-century Mexico, where Salma can be seen wearing a similar hat.
Lori Harvey also recalled how she once missed Beyoncé's headlining set at Coachella in 2018, which was quite devastating for the longtime fan, who was attending the festival with close friend and singer Normani.
“You want to know what's so crazy? I missed it because I had to pee. It was like sardines in there. I ran to the back [because] I have the bladder of a 2-year-old and could not find the bathroom. And there's no service out there. So I'm not thinking, I separated from everybody and then finally, one of my friends found me.”
She added, "We were all the way in the back and I heard [Beyoncé] coming on. I wanted to cry and we just couldn't see. We ended up leaving early and went to Neon Carnival [Coachella’s afterparty]. I was devastated.”
Lori Harvey in Reasonable Doubt
Lori Harvey is joining season 3 of the Hulu original show Reasonable Doubt. Fans weren't quite thrilled with the news due to her already existing status as a celebrity and a nepo baby. However, the budding actress addressed the hate quite gracefully.
“I'm a new actress. I think in this day and age of social media, people don't really understand that everybody has to start somewhere. My goal is to take it as far as I can."
"Honestly, you can't look at the comments because I feel like they just become a cesspool for negativity,” she adds. “And honestly, I feel like if they're not talking negatively or talking BS, then I feel like you're not really doing it. So, it honestly fuels me. It drives me more.”
“I feel like [people] think that if you already have a name or a face or whatever, that you immediately have to start at the top or be at the top. That's not real life,” Lori Harvey concluded. “So this is my starting point and I'm excited about it.
The third season of Reasonable Doubt will premiere on September 18 on Hulu.
