King Charles has rounded off his year with the title of "hardest-working member" of the royal family, despite his ongoing health struggles.

The Mirror reported earlier this week that the King, 77, finished the most royal engagements this year. The honor was determined based on official outings recorded in The Court Circular until December 18.

People Magazine has reported that the Court Circular is the official record of all past royal engagements for all working members of the royal family. According to The Mirror, the King recorded a staggering 535 engagements of the 2,458 listed.

King Charles and Princess Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis explored:

The Mirror has reported that Prince Charles clocked in 50 more engagements than his sister, Princess Ann, this year. The latter is famous for often taking the title of hardest-working royal herself, though she clocked in 478 engagements this year.

The news comes amid King Charles' ongoing cancer treatment. He was reportedly diagnosed nearly two years ago. Despite this, he travelled across the world for his engagements, including to Italy, Canada, and Poland.

Just last week, he announced that, come next year, his cancer treatment would be reduced. He credited early diagnosis, good healthcare, and following his "doctors’ orders".

King Charles' daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, ranked tenth on the list. She clocked in 68 engagements. The Princess of Wales, 43, announced earlier this year that she had gone into remission after announcing in March 2024 that she was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment.

She consequently reduced her duties as a working royal to focus on her health, though she seemingly stepped up her workload this year.

Prince Edward, 61, the Duke of Edinburgh, was third in line for the most engagements of this year, raking in 313. His wife, Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, came in fourth place with 235. King Charles' wife, Queen Camilla, 78, clocked in fifth with 228 engagements.

Royal expert Patricia Treble, who reportedly compiled the analysis from the Court Circular, spoke to The Mirror about the significance of King Charles' newest accolade, especially given his ailments.

"Considering he spent the entire year undergoing regular cancer treatment, the King set the pace when it comes to royal duty for the House of Windsor," she told the Mirror.

She also pointed out that all three of the royal siblings dominate the yearly workload:

"Charles, Anne, and Edward - dominate the royal work year. They are the only royals to have done more than 300 engagements each," she remarked.
